Board and train at a facility
I couldn't be more happy. Oscar is awesome! He is so patient and quiet while working with the dogs. I wish I lived closer to their location so that I could leave Bella there for doggie day care. I highly recommend him as a trainer. Barks 5th Avenue was the best choice I could have made.Nov 19, 2018Verified
Cannot begin to thank Oscar enough for the behavior transformation in my dog. So very happy to have found Barks for our training and boarding needs. They love what they do and it’s so obvious. Oscar took an obstinate, unminding 3 year old Akita and gave me back a dog who behaves but has kept her personality.Apr 6, 2018Verified
Amazing! Very beneficial for my 5YO boxer, he went into the 3 week training (being shy and a bit rebellious) and came out a very well behaved dog. I'm very grateful I found them and very thankful to Oscar for the training he's provided not only to my baby but also to me. Highly recommend Barks 5th Avenue. Great experience from the first time I requested info to the time the hand over happened. Grooming and daycare was also very good. Chowder will definitely be visiting daycare there and next is puppy training for my boxer. Old dogs can learn new tricks!Jan 31, 2016Verified
Oscar and team did an excellent job with my two dogs during their 3 week basic obedience training. I have two dogs from the same litter that at times could be very frustrating. Oscar was able to teach them and me the necessary skills to make it fun again to have two dogs. The team at Barks 5th Avenue took good care of my pups and they all were very nice and loving of the dogs as if they were their own. I also very much appreciated the fact that they allow you to visit your dogs while they have them. Some other trainers insisted that I could not see the dogs until they completed training. Being able to see them periodically let me see that they were progressing on their training and that they were healthy and not overly stressed with being away from home. My favorite skill learned was “place”. This gave me some reprieve from their endless energy and they would not move until I freed them.Jul 31, 2019Verified
Dog Training - Board and Train
My 6 year old lab mix went in for a 3 week training boot camp. I just brought her home and the results are great! I walked past distractions, dogs and yelling toddlers with complete focus on me and my commands from her. She really loved her time there, and you can tell the people treat each dog like family. She will definitely be back for doggie day care and boarding if we go on overnight trips in the future. I really trust these guys to love her like I do.Dec 1, 2016Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our pricing system for our Board and Train program is quite simple: 3 week training program: $995.00 for the first dog (discounts apply for multiple dogs) ---That covers the TRAINING portion of the Program. Since the dog will be boarding with us, there is also an ADDITIONAL boarding charge, on top of the $995.00. The boarding price varies by the weight of your dog. The discounted boarding charge varies from $18.00-22.00 per night. This price ALSO includes FREE doggie daycare during his/her stay, which is part of the training and socialization program. Normally, daycare would cost $24/day.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? Our love of animals has drawn us together. Pennie, our founder, was a champion rodeo rider, and her love of horses eventually carried over to sport dog competitions (she is a multiple-winning frisbee dog champion). The rest, as they say, is history!
- What types of customers have you worked with? Our 3 week "board and train" package is the favorite amongst families. During this period, your dog stays with us at our facility, and has daily training sessions with his/her assigned training. We have found this to be the most successful method of training, as it allows your pooch to focus on the curriculum without any distractions.
