Introduction: With over three decades in the training business, Pennie and her team of expert trainers have found that an individual approach to each dog is key to success. Positive reinforcement, reward-based training in a dedicated training facility allows us to succeed where others cannot. PRICING STRUCTURE Our pricing system for our Board and Train program is quite simple: 3 week training program: $995.00 for the first dog (discounts apply for multiple dogs) ---That covers the TRAINING portion of the Program. Since the dog will be boarding with us, there is also an ADDITIONAL boarding charge, on top of the $995.00. The boarding price varies by the weight of your dog. The boarding charge varies from $23.00-28.00 per night. This price ALSO includes FREE doggie daycare during his/her stay, which is part of the training and socialization program. Normally, daycare would cost $24/day. We get to play with dogs all day long! Who wouldn't love that? :) Helping a family by training their best friend gives us a sense of joy that is found in few other occupations. Watching a family grow closer to their pet is a blessing!

Dog Training

We took both our pups to Bark’s 5th for their 6 week training program. We went every Friday for an hour, sometimes a little over. Oscar, and the entire staff, was absolutely amazing! Oscar tailored the training to our dogs’ needs. We have one that had Resource guarding issues and that made feeding sometimes a little bit of a hassle, but now he can have treats next to or with our other pup. He won’t growl at us when we walk by him, we can take a treat away from him if needed. They are so well behaved and of course are still learning but the tools and training Oscar gave my husband and I has been invaluable. We are so pleased and highly recommend Bark’s!

Dog Training

Our puppy Archie just graduated from the basic obedience program at 5th Ave. Archie was a high energy dog who we struggled with bc he always wants to play. Oscar at 5th Avenue has helped us immensely! No more frustration or hesitation about having people over and worried he would be jumping on everyone. We are so happy with his progress we plan on taking him back for the advanced off leash training next year.

Dog Training

Oscar and team did an excellent job with my two dogs during their 3 week basic obedience training. I have two dogs from the same litter that at times could be very frustrating. Oscar was able to teach them and me the necessary skills to make it fun again to have two dogs. The team at Barks 5th Avenue took good care of my pups and they all were very nice and loving of the dogs as if they were their own. I also very much appreciated the fact that they allow you to visit your dogs while they have them. Some other trainers insisted that I could not see the dogs until they completed training. Being able to see them periodically let me see that they were progressing on their training and that they were healthy and not overly stressed with being away from home. My favorite skill learned was “place”. This gave me some reprieve from their endless energy and they would not move until I freed them.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our pricing system for our Board and Train program is quite simple: 3 week training program: $995.00 for the first dog (discounts apply for multiple dogs) ---That covers the TRAINING portion of the Program. Since the dog will be boarding with us, there is also an ADDITIONAL boarding charge, on top of the $995.00. The boarding price varies by the weight of your dog. The discounted boarding charge varies from $18.00-22.00 per night. This price ALSO includes FREE doggie daycare during his/her stay, which is part of the training and socialization program. Normally, daycare would cost $24/day.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Our love of animals has drawn us together. Pennie, our founder, was a champion rodeo rider, and her love of horses eventually carried over to sport dog competitions (she is a multiple-winning frisbee dog champion). The rest, as they say, is history!

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Our 3 week "board and train" package is the favorite amongst families. During this period, your dog stays with us at our facility, and has daily training sessions with his/her assigned training. We have found this to be the most successful method of training, as it allows your pooch to focus on the curriculum without any distractions.
