I have been one of Mr.Coleman's students for a very long time and it has been amazing all throughout. Mr.Coleman has helped me improved greatly on the violin and always make sure I always understand everything he goes over during each lesson. He and his wife, Laura Coleman, have done great work in opening the American Music Academy which offers students of any background a place to advance their skills whether on the violin, viola, piano, or guitar at their own pace. When Mr.Coleman informed me about his plans to open his own music academy, I immediately knew him, his wife, and the academy faculty would do great work in making sure every student is able to excel in their own instruments keeping in mind that every student is different and has their own way of improving. Thank you, AMA!

I've had Mr.Colemen as my private lesson teacher for over three years now. During that time, I have been able to improve a lot and have always felt like my needs were always addressed and met. I can wholeheartedly recommend him as a teacher to anyone that wants to learn violin, or build upon their current skills and become better musicians.

The American Music Academy may be Houston's newest music school, but don't mistake that for inexperience! The directors and teachers are knowledgeable, passionate, and personable. You won't go wrong here :)

Thumbtack Customer

I had the pleasure of working with the directors, Wyatt and Laura, to find their brick and mortar space. They are such warm people whose passion for music education inspires everyone around them! They focus heavily on taking care of their teachers, which allows them to nurture their students and pour their hearts into what they do. The AMA is not just another music school but is a stand-out place for anyone who wants to learn.

All of our teachers are classically trained and have been teaching for many years. Lessons are one-on-one so that the teacher can shape the lesson to fit your exact needs.
