About this pro

How does your service stand out?

I believe my legal services optimize value to the client when compared to legal services offered by higher-priced attorneys in the Greater Houston Area. I also focus my practice on the client's goals, which do not always necessitate litigation.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

Being a solo practitioner allows me to have flexibility in controlling the quality and direction of my legal services, while also allowing me to spend time with my family.

Daniel represented me during my "uncontested" divorce, as if there is such a thing? His service was exceptional. He listened first intently and without interruption. He paraphrased back to me my request and expectations as he understood them. Then he and I collaborated on a plan of action, yes he actually included me in the brainstorming! He explained what he needed from me to be successful. He took care of the court filings as a good attorney should and ensured I got notarized copies of everything. He guided me every step of the way and for this I am grateful. He never promised me anything he couldn't deliver. He was honest. Imagine that, an honest lawyer, I guess they do exist after all! I highly recommend his services. If what you require is outside his area of expertise, he will let you know up front; and if possible recommend a colleague better suited to your needs. Pardon the pun.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every year all licensed attorneys are required to meet minimum Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements. In Texas, attorneys are required to fulfill a set number of hours of accredited legal education for both legal studies and courses in ethics.or professional responsibility. The types of CLE accepted are diverse and can include personal study (some), seminars, training sessions, speaking events, online training, etc. I meet these requirements every year, and I plan on continuing my required legal education every year until I retire.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
I have a flexible pricing system, depending on the type of legal matter and sometimes the facts of the case. Please call for details.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Looking back, I remember that before I decided to become a lawyer, I had to fight to win custody of my oldest child. I was very young and an infantryman in the Army at the time, but the circumstances demanded maturity, and this new kind of fight gave my life even greater meaning and purpose. In that position many years ago, a caring and thoughtful attorney was there to counsel and represent me, and working together with her made a huge and fulfilling difference in my life!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Uncontested divorces are one of the most common types of jobs I perform. "Uncontested" means the parties both agreed to all aspects of the divorce, including but not limited to property division, debt allocation, custody, visitation, support payments, etc., as applicable. Whether contested or not, I offer my family law services at a lower rate than fees I charge for other types of services, such as commercial litigation, mainly because they often involve children. Nevertheless, I believe that the rates or fees charged in all of my practice areas, including adoption, commercial litigation and disputes, as well as in general civil practice, are generally lower than most other attorneys in the Greater Houston Area.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't utilize only one advertising service to research potential attorneys. Visit the Texas State Bar website, the attorney's website, take notes, and ask plenty of questions up front.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
In contested cases involving children, a client's interest is not always the same as "the best interests of the children." Ideally for me, I try my best to select cases where these interests are the same, at least in terms of my opinion and experience. I let the client know this up front, so when we decide to enter into an attorney-client relationship, we are all on the same page and dedicated to seeking a just outcome. I cannot solve all of the world's problems in this regard, but I take great satisfaction that I am contributing in some way to giving children the best shot in life.
