After a call and text confirmation, I left work early for a 3pm evaluation and quote. At 345 I reached out because no one had come. Then I called at 415pm. Only at that point they said they were 45min out and wanted to reschedule. There’s no shortage of landscapers in Houston. I cancelled. No one reached out to me until I reached out twice. Unprofessional and I didn’t want to start a project like this.

I hired Sanabria Outdoor Solutions through Thumbtack for a hardscape project. Jose (whom I suspect is the owner) and Richard were friendly, and their crew did good work overall. After the job and paying for the labor portion, I received a materials invoice that included a $734 (5) gallon jug of adhesive that was never used on my property. When I questioned it, I was told the product had been used. I reviewed my security cameras and saw Jose have the container removed from my yard and loaded into the truck while instructing the crew to use a different $100 (1) gallon jug of adhesive. The $700 product was never used. Only after I sent them the video and they realized they were caught redhanded, did they remove the charge from the invoice. The work was fine, but they deliberately tried to juice me for $734. This was no accident. Not a mistake. This was an intentional attempt to get me to pay $734 for a product they were likely going to get another customer to pay for as well, as they use it for their project. Customers should not have to verify footage to avoid being billed for materials that were never used. The work was cool. No real complaints there, but they will steal from you if they can. Buyer beware. Be prepared to watch them from start to finish.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad you were satisfied with the quality of the hardscape work itself. However, we must respectfully clarify the situation regarding the adhesive charge. The invoice in question was generated directly by SiteOne Landscape Supply and sent through their payment system. It was not created or processed by us. The billing error originated from the supplier’s side and included a product that was not ultimately used on your project. As soon as the discrepancy was brought to our attention, we immediately reviewed it with the vendor and had the charge removed. There was no payment collected for that item, and no customer was charged for materials not used. We take integrity very seriously. Suggesting that we would intentionally “steal” from a client is simply not accurate and does not reflect how we conduct business. Vendor billing errors, while unfortunate, can occur, and when they do, we address them promptly, just as we did in this case. We stand behind our work, our transparency, and our commitment to every client.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
A majority of tree damage is caused by us humans improperly trying to save money and hiring the wrong individuals to perform tree maintenance. Sometimes simply cutting off a branch that does not look right is not the best choice for the health of a tree. Trees can be injured by lawn mowers and weed trimmers continually stripping away bark from the trunk of the tree. So a tree is like a hair cut, you won't trust the wrong barber right? We offer up to 20% off to first time customer on select services. We are committed to your project just like you are. We have never lost a customer due to price, because our value package exceeds expectation!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
From the moment of the inquire, we have an agent that contact you to schedule an appointment with a project manager. The project manager will drive to you and collect the full scoop of work and provide our difference services, including trimming, thinning, shape up and or tree removal! What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have performed all the positions on the tree process while I work with my Dad a Blue collar man that shows me the principles of this business and how to keep customers coming back. Each job site has show me many scenario while the best school has been on hands on and being 100% reliable.
