We stand out as resume writers because we make our clients stand out as job candidates. Employers today want to know more than just a candidate's job history and education. They want to know if the candidate has the personal qualities that will help them work with those who are already there. Examples of these qualities are creativity, attention to detail, perseverance, and resilience, but there are many more. Most resume writers do not include the personal qualities that are likely to make someone good at a job. I ask my clients to take an online personality profile to discover their marketable strengths, then I put them in the resume. As a recruiter for 16 years, I have asked my corporate clients what they want to see in an candidate's resume, and what they told me is nothing like what most people think they want. We go to great lengths to make sure our clients stand out from the crowd rather than blend into it. I literally "wrote the book" about the job search process.
