Introduction: Hi my name is Bonnie, The Dance Whisperer! A lot has changed over the last year for everyone, but we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Weddings have been moved but WILL happen. Vacations have been postponed but WILL be enjoyed again, and there will ALWAYS be reasons to learn to dance and own that skill. I guarantee that as your dance coach and instructor, I will get you dancing! I promise I make it easy and fun! I have over 12 years of experience and I know I can tailor a learning program specific to you and your needs. If you don't have a partner that's ok! You don't need a partner to learn how to dance. I teach singles, couples, and groups. Two left feet, you say? Well, I know how to make them two right feet. Let me make the process of learning to dance quick and painless for you. Even the most stubborn skeptics walk out of my lesson smiling and feeling good about themselves. Speaking to the happy wedding couples: Your first dance is an important moment for you. Not only is it a traditional symbol of taking your first steps in life together, but it's something you perform in front of all the special people who have supported your love. Unlike the cake, flowers, limo, and decorations, learning to dance with your life partner is an Investment. The steps you learn for your first dance will be something that you can continue to use throughout your lives. Let me make learning to dance together as fun and easy as possible for you. In addition to Social and Ballroom dance instruction, I teach Dance Therapy and Mind/Body Connection Therapy. This form of therapy can be used in many ways, but there are two ways I'd like to mention. The first way would be to use it as a talk therapy alternative. Through Movement and Dance Therapy, you will be able to heal yourself from anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders and other mental and emotional perplexities. It is through movement that we are often able to express and "say" with our bodies the things we cannot verbalize or express through other means. The second way Movement and Dance Therapy is used, is as a physical therapy aid. Dance is a great way to help keep your mind and body young and active. I have had many physically disabled students come to me as a way to increase flexibility, balance, physical stamina, agility, circulation and even to battle against memory loss. Through movement therapy you will be able to make quick and lasting strides in your overall physical and mental health and well being. I make sure that I tailor a program to your exact wants and individual needs.

We were preparing for our son’s wedding. Bonnie took us (well mostly me, my wife already had rhythm) from clueless novices to confident dancers. She was incredibly patient with us and had many tricks up her sleeve to help us learn. We plan to continue working with her even though the wedding is over. By the way, we looked great on the dance floor.

Amazing. The Best. An icon. Bonnie and I started working together when I decided to enter into my first pageant. I needed a talent, and decided I would love to do a dance, but the problem is I don’t have any dance experience. Bonnie said “say no more” and custom tailored a choreography based on what I envisioned and the way my body naturally moved and explained every sequence to me in a way I could understand, using vivid imagery I could remember. She helped me come out of my shell and express myself fully through dance. I went on to compete nationally in Washington DC and placed in the Top 5! I owe my success to Bonnie. She has allowed me to grow in my self confidence not only in dance but in life! I recommend Bonnie to anyone and everyone: she will transform you! Thank you so much Bonnie! I couldn’t have done it without your expertise!

Bonnie is amazing! We look forward to our weekly dance lessons. We came in with no experience and we feel confident we are going to wow the crowd at our wedding! In addition, we will be able to take the skills learned to go beyond the choreography to just dance on date night.

BONNIE IS AMAZING. She took our dance and took it to the next level. We practiced with Bonnie for our first dance at our wedding. She took our song and added flare, sass, playful flirting, romance, and sex appeal!! We were told our first dance was the best anyone has ever seen. While people have to say that, its true. Our first dance was so special and kept everyone on their toes to see what we would do next. I am hoping I can post a video of our dance here once I get the video back! A highlight video can be seen at this link (scroll to the reception to see some images of our dance). https://vimeo.com/573175122

I contacted Bonnie so my future wife and I could have a smooth first dance at our wedding and gain some pointers for going out dancing. She has delivered that and more. Her studio is very clean and welcoming. She had many different dance plans to choose from based on our wants and needs. Personalized to fit each individual plan all depending on what you choose. Very sweet, patient, knowledgeable and most importantly she made what would normally be nerve racking and awkward, fun! Our first dance is amazing. It fits our song perfectly and she made it a truly wonderful experience. Anytime we added a new move into the mix, she would record it with either myself or my wife clearly and slowly. Anytime we have needed to reach her, she has always replied within minutes. Her schedule is so flexible, even the busiest family can find time to dance with Bonnie. We felt right at home with Bonnie and I would recommend her services to everyone looking to learn solo, as a new couple, or as a married couple. We not only had the pleasure of having her as our dance instructor; we consider her a dear friend now as well. Don't hesitate to contact her if you are on the fence about dance lessons; just do it! I promise you will not regret it! Thank you Bonnie for teaching us some sick dance moves! :)

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Call me to set up an introduction lesson and consultation for only $25. My Programs range between $80-$100 Per 45 minute lesson, depending on what program you choose. I want you to experience a lesson with me at very low cost to you, so that you can try it out before you commit to anything. I will customize a program to fit your schedule and budget. I make sure that my prices are competitive. It's important that you feel the value of the lessons before deciding on a program.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    1. Phone Consultation: That's my chance to get to know a little bit about you. I'll ask you some simple questions that will help me get a better picture of what you're looking for. This helps me prepare for our first lesson. Together we will decide on a time and location. 2. The First lesson: This will be a 45 minute lesson with a 15 minute consultation. This is where you will sample different dances as well as my particular teaching style. At the end of the lesson, we will discuss the different programs that I offer. Based on my experience with you during the lesson, I will give you my professional recommendation, but ultimately you will choose the program (number of lessons) that feels right for you. 3. Customizing a Program: Once we have decided on a program, I customize that program and create a personalized syllabus to help us reach your dancing goals as quickly as possible!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been teaching dance for over 12 years. I started out teaching group classes that focused on movement therapy. I've spent the past several years focused primarily on teaching ballroom and social dancing. My curriculum has a fun emphasis on partner connection and learning how to lead and follow in any social setting. I'm also a choreographer. My choreography has primarily been in wedding dances (First Dances, Daddy/Daughter Dances, Mother/Son Dances, and choreographed group dances) I have also done music video choreography in New York for some young artists.
