I hired the Finishing Touch to repair and refurbish a 165 yr old table and chairs. Knowing the value of antiques can diminish if refinished, and concerned about a family heirloom, I delayed several years before finally committing to this job. My chairs simply needed to be re-glued, but the table had some substantial cracks and even nail holes. The Renfroes agreed to repair the damage, glue the seams, refinish the table top, glue the chairs, and give it all a satin finish. They did it all in good time, and kept me in the loop with pictures. The table looks Great and will be enjoyed by my family for many more decades. Thanks guys!

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with The Finishing Touch. Initially, things seemed promising, but communication and project mgmt became an issue. Despite clear expectations and a signed contract, I found myself confused around the project’s timeline. My project was pushed back twice, which yes, was frustrating… and when I questioned the delay, they responded with what felt like annoyance, as if I should be grateful they were still willing to do the job at all, even with their delay. After reaching out to confirm my new appointment time, the contractor then ceased communication. Despite multiple attempts to reach out (Thumbtack, email, voicemail), I received no updates or responses. This lack of professionalism and accountability left my project incomplete and myself upset. My project was relatively basic, so perhaps that’s why they shrugged me off, and maybe your project is great and they’ll give you the time of day. To me, all projects should be given respect and attention. I would not recommend Finishing Touch if you’re looking for help that isn’t an entire home renovation. Lack of reliable and communicative service is silly in today’s services.

The Finishing Touch's reply
Unfortunately Samuel you review is miss leading. the 1st initial day was scheduled ( 2 weeks out ) we had given a verbal quote no signed contract nor digital copy of quote. 2 days prior to repair, I had informed you severe weather had juggled our schedule around on a few large projects and that we had dead lines to meet and that we would need to reschedule (1st time attempting to reschedule) for the following week. upon needing to reschedule you had got very confrontational and demanded that we keep the original schedule. I informed you that if this schedule change would not work with you that I would recommend that you seek another company to preform work. You stated that dealing with this inconvenience left you kicking rocks and waiting for work to be completed would not be accepted. I personally felt attacked that you were demanding my services and that I worked for you. so I decided that we would not be a good fit as there was already tention in the air. Every job, and every client we get is treated with respect and not one job is more important than the other. It's is unfortunate that you had a terrible experience with our company as I to had difficulties with the experience. Thank you for your feedback
