I've been a remote piano student with Laura for a couple years. When I was trying to learn on my own I hit a wall pretty quickly. I couldn't learn which keys where which, and I couldn't read more than a few notes of sheet music. Since starting with Laura we've made it almost all the way through the introductory book, I've played a few remote recitals, and I've had fun with songs from pop culture, like Star Wars and 007.

My daughter has only been working with Laura a few months and it has been going really great. Laura communicates the lessons very clearly to the students. My daughter is learning and she isn't overwhelmed or confused between lessons or unsure of what he assignments are. Laura, is very good at determining the students level. This hasn't always been the case with other piano teachers. Laura is very patient and kind also. My daughter feels very comfortable and relaxed and is really learning. As a parent Laura is very easy to work with. She is very professional and reliable and I also know what needs to happen with the lessons. Which I appreciate. She is a very good teacher.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a free trial lesson to all of my first time students!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During the first lesson, I like to go over any previous musical experience and build on that. We go over your personal goals and devise a plan to reach those goals. If you're a brand-new beginner, we start from the basics by creating an individual, creative lesson plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started playing at the age of six, and began teaching at the age of 16. After high school I attended Eckerd College on a music scholarship focusing on classical piano, and continued my studies at the University of Tampa and University of South Florida. I received a degree in Music and Video Business at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I am also a video editor. I especially enjoy putting music to my shows that have aired on Discovery, TLC, HGTV, PBS, and more!
