Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself and explain the dog training services that I offer to the greater Houston area. I am K9Cara and as a second generation dog trainer with over 30 years of experience, I offer a 1 week board and train where I take your dog into my home with me for 1 week. I train for first time response to the 5 universal obedience commands- Sit, Come (Recall), Stay, Heel, and the correction/redirection word No. I also housebreak (potty train), crate train, socialize your dog with other dogs/children/cats, and I correct away any other specific problem behaviors you might be experiencing (including but not limited to barking, biting, nipping, jumping, running out the door, rough play, counter surfing, resource guarding, aggression, anxiety, poor dynamics between dogs of the same family, etc).
Not only that, I stay in touch on a daily basis documenting and reporting on the process every single night that your dog is with me. My daily detailed videos and insights along the way are to show you precisely how I train your dog and to provide you with a valuable customized look at what good handling should look like with your dog. Then, at the end of the week when you come to pick up your dog, I do a 1 hour lesson with you where I teach you my method, the right mindset to have towards your dog, and how to transfer and maintain training with easy drills. I instruct you how to correct your dog safely and effectively, and I include a slip lead leash for you which is the primary tool of training that you need. Towards the end of our training session, I have you work with your dog and I coach you on good handling and correction technique, that way I know that you know exactly what to do from that point on.
⭐️I don’t use treats to food lure dogs- I use clear communication and gentle leash corrections. Not all dogs respond to a treat but all dogs respond to a correction and a redirection.
⭐️I don’t need 2, 3, 4, 6, or 8 weeks to get the job done- I only need 1, and most dogs train up within a matter of the first few days.
⭐️I don’t charge thousands of dollars nor will you need to rehire me after the week- I train you how to be your dog’s trainer and do what I do.
⭐️I don’t need a meet and greet or evaluation before I train your dog to determine if I can successfully train your dog- I know I can, and I can confirm this by a 15 minute phone call with you.
⭐️I don’t train dogs in an isolated kennel facility/kennel yard environment- I take them into my family and train them at the park and my neighborhood around all the real world distractions of your every day life.
⭐️You won’t need follow up classes or repeat bookings- I teach you the way and once you know, you know!
⭐️I also offer boarding for my clients who have completed training.
