For any Students or Parents who are not familiar with Carlos Benson, please be aware that you have stumbled accross perhaps the greatest drum teacher you will ever personally know! I am aware and familiar with one hundred of the finest performing drummers on the planet and would have no hesitation in placing Mr. Benson solidly in the midst of these players. The added bonus for "You" is that Mr. Benson is also a committed and well schooled "Educator". As a parent, my biggest concerns (for a teacher of my child) would be: a. Character, b. foundation in Faith, c. personal Example relating to his Musical Ability as well as lifestyle. I consider myself a well educated musician. Many accomplished musicians continue to take lessons from superb teachers as they continue to play professionally. That being said, I would be in this man's studio for an hour per week if I now lived within seventy five miles of Carlos Benson.

I took lessons with Mr. Carlos beginning at the age of 9 and stayed with him for the next 6 years. During my time with him, he took me from the very foundation of fundamentals all the way up to playing professionally. I owe my love and passion for the drums to him. He was always kind and warm hearted. He was always encouraging. He was always fair. He was always a man of God. To this day my lively hood revolves around the drums with owning my own drum shop and playing regularly in a variety of professional situations. I even do a little teaching myself. Mr. Carlos will put you on track whether you are beginning or looking to level up your approach to the drums. Hands down the greatest mentor of my lifetime. He is a treasure trove of knowledge and undoubtedly the drum teacher you never knew you needed.
