Billy and his associate painted the interior of our home last fall. My home has some high ceilings and interesting areas. And, painting the interior of my home involved working around us as we lived in our home. Billy chose a great paint for us (we chose the color or course). Billy was timely and experienced. Our home looks great. We are very pleased with the look of our home and the services he provided. We hired Billy because we heard he was a perfectionist and he was.

Custom Interiors remodeled my bathroom....they had to fix the walls and the ceiling. The job stayed clean and he kept me informed. The wallpaper installed was beautiful the ceiling better I thought it would be. Thank you Custom Interiors

BEWARE. This was by far the worst experience I’ve had with any type of contractor or worker, and I’ve hired many professionals over the years. I was optimistic based on Billy’s credentials and the positive reviews here, but unfortunately he was unable to work with the paper we selected and he became extremely unprofessional and aggressive. To start, he was able to successfully float the walls to prep for the paper. However, after trying one roll, he told us the paper was defective. I asked that he try another roll to confirm, and he said the second roll was also defective. Our paper has beading on the front, and he was unable to keep them from getting into his glue. We both agreed that I would contact the manufacturer and have him return once the paper was replaced. I paid him for his time, and I also pre-paid him for some floating that would have to be redone where he had hung the “bad” paper. Because it took him a week to cash the check, it didn’t clear. I apologized and was able to fully resolve it within 36 hours, but after only 20 minutes of initially notifying me he immediately became aggressive, started threatening me, and referred to us as “you people” (I try not to read in to comments like this, but as a minority you get used to their intent). Despite this, I continued to work with the manufacturer and spent a great deal of time defending his work and trying to convince them the paper was defective based on his opinion, pictures, and credentials. After a couple of weeks (and several personal hours) of escalations, the manufacturer finally determined it was user error and would not refund or replace the paper. They also noted that since the paper was custom made, either all rolls in a batch would be defective or none. Therefore, I hired another professional to see if that was the case. Luckily, she had no issues with the remaining paper, and she did an incredible job finishing the project. I am thrilled with her end result and even hired her for a second project. Since the initial installation attempt was clearly Billy’s error, I asked that he refund the two paper rolls he destroyed and the portion of his time he spent incorrectly hanging them. Of course I still agreed to pay for the work he successfully completed. However, he again replied with disdain, accusing me of trying to cheat him. He refused to stand by his workmanship and refund his errors, and he refused to come see the completed job to confirm the success. He then said he would see me in court. I know he has a lot of great reviews on here, but I saw a completely different side of him. Beware if you have a complex paper or maybe just catch him on a bad day - I’d hate for you to be treated the way I was.

Most pricing is done by the square foot, or linear foot. A little of it is guess work. Such as patch and repair work. Trying to guess how long some thing will take.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 20 plus years in the wallcovering trade. I have worked in the high end residential in Naples, FL. working in multi million dollar homes. I have installed glass bead wallcovering, Maya Romanoff bedazzled and weathered melts. silks, fabrics,grass, hand trim. I also have experience in multifamily and commercial, including hotels.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
It was a family business. All my brothers were in the painting and wall covering trade, and still are.
