Introduction: I am licensed in the State of Texas as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (License No.6042). I notified Thumbtack years ago that their available list of licensed professions does not include Surveyor. They still have not corrected the problem. We provide reliable accurate data and boundary surveys for many clients throughout Texas.

I emailed and called at least 5 surveyors and I either had no follow-up from the company or no response altogether. I sent Total Geo Data a message through thumbtack on a Saturday and I received a quote the very same day within an hour or so. On Tuesday I let them know that I wanted to go with them and they had someone out that same week. My survey was not as straightforward as most surveys because they could not locate the pins on my property. This required them to have to come back twice, for a total of three times, in order to complete the survey. Once Scott was finished, he sent me photos of where the markings were and an apology for taking longer than usual, even though this was due to something beyond his control. Surveying my house was very time-consuming for them and yet they did not increase their price. They stayed in communication with me and let me know what was going on with my property. This company showed professionalism, had the best price point and was very transparent with their work. Because I am a single female, I've had contractors try and take advantage of me but not this company and I truly appreciate that.

We ended up surveying a total of six lots in order to place your missing corners in the correct location. Many of the low budget surveyors would never have gone to that length. We really should have increased the price somewhat to cover the extra time, however we overlooked it on this one. I am satisfied with your excellent review! Take care.

John and his crew did an outstanding job with the survey task that I laid before them. All the other companies had a 4 week time frame before they could get started but TGD was right on top of things within a few days. I now have my completed survey a week ahead of when the competition would have even started!

John D was very helpful. HE came in at a price that was well below a competitor, and he was very communicative through the whole process. Took just about a week to get my survey and it came out great. John even went above and beyond and uncovered a potential issue that could have arisen and gave me some background history knowledge I didnt know also. Hire Him. Great Guy!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I provide a professional level service on par with engineers, architects, lawyers, etc. I highly value my professional license and I charge fees based upon my professional level of knowledge. If you are only looking for the cheapest survey you can get, good luck with that!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I need the complete address of the property to be surveyed. The address opens the door to a lot of information about the property. Info that I need to prepare a quote. I would like to know what you plan to do with the survey. Real estate sale-residential-commercial, design for a new home or business, tree survey, etc. A phone call would be most helpful to cover all the bases. When we have the details worked out, I can schedule a time to send a crew to do the field work. It takes anywhere from a half day to a few weeks to complete depending upon the complexity of the job.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a BBA and over 4 years experience just to apply for licensing. I must complete 12 hours of professional continuing education each year to maintain my license,
