My coaching stems not only from my passion for this game and its technique, but also from personal experience and training as an ASA softball athlete and 2009 ASA National Fast Pitch Champion. I have been coaching for 14 years, ages 6-18, both privately in lesson settings, as well as clinics, camps, high schools, clubs, and running two ASA club teams for 3yrs. My coaching style is all about teaching an athlete to be in sync with her body in order to perform her absolute best. This game is just as much mental as it is physical, so I coach with emphasis on both, and I get my reputation as a coach from how well I work with athletes of all ages and for my ability to coach the game in their language to help them progress faster and more noticeably.
I love walking alongside athletes, watching their growth, breakthroughs, opportunities open up, and learn to appreciate and respect this game for the joy and gift it is to play. I started coaching to share my passion for the game with up and coming athletes who have a heart for this game. Athlete health and muscle conditioning is also a huge passion of mine for injury prevention and career prolonging, so I strive to teach athletes how to train properly with well-rounded training approaches. At the end of the day it all comes back to the love of game and joy in passing on this craft.
I have worked with both internal rotation, and windmill pitching mechanic disciplines, and am known for helping athletes transition to new pitching science techniques, develop their movement pitches, increase their speed, and troubleshoot current mechanic/pain related concerns.

Coach Mac is helping my daughter (11) take her game to the next level. Her attention to detail is impeccable. She has a great attitude, skill set, and the right tools to advance young players. My daughter learns valuable lessons every time we meet. We both are looking forward to the next lesson.

Makayla worked with both of my girls and it was an amazing experience. She made it fun and adapted to each girls personality to give feedback. My older daughter struggled with a change up and Makayla tried every one til we found one that worked. She was flexible with scheduling and always on time. We were so sad when we moved and couldn’t take her with us.

Coach Mac has been great working with my 9/10 year old daughter the last year. She excels at teaching young girls how to recognize mistakes in form and how they can self correct. I’ve seen her work with several girls on our travel team, she adjusts her lesson approach to the level and progress of each girl. We have quickly learned new pitches and new drills to help my daughter develop in between our weekly lessons. If you are committed to advancing your daughter as a fast pitcher I highly recommend coach Mac.

Simply stated Coach Mak is awesome! She has worked with my 10 year old granddaughter over the past 2 years and the improvement is amazing. She pushes the girls but makes it fun. She adapts to different pitching styles and researches new drills and and changes that can be made to improve young pitchers. She also works on conditioning and the mental aspects of the position. I would highly recommend Coach Mak to anyone looking for a pitching coach.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually I prefer to start with a consultation call where we can each ask questions to get to know one another better. I will want to know your daughter's experience, where she is currently playing, why y'all are seeking lessons, goals you have for lessons, etc. This is a time you can ask me any questions you still need answered as well. Then we discuss available times/days and schedule an eval lesson. An eval lesson is our first one our session together, but it involves a lot introducing drills, warmups, motions, etc., to your daughter to see how she learns, and how she responds to our time together. She will learn a lot in this first session, but the ultimate purpose is to see how we fit as a coach/client team, and for me to give you feedback about strengths I noticed, areas to improve, and how I would like to move forward to reach our mutual goals. After this lesson you as the client would decide how you would like to move forward (i.e. Week-to-Week scheduling or Commitment Package), and we would get your daughter scheduled in a lesson slot!
