Introduction: I am very consistent with specific skills needed by the individual. I teach and graph progressive so it is always visible and tangible. I understand how the brain works to learn. One of the first things I do every year is quickly develop a positive relationship with my students because it speeds learning. Everyone wants to feel good about their self and will work harder when in a positive environment. I have always enjoyed watching the development and progress of students. It is rewarding to see them learn to solve problems in learning and develop that inner confidence from learning rather than rewards. Self actualization is far more rewarding than receiving a sticker.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It is not complicated. I charge a minimum of $30. I provide materials myself. If I decide that it would be beneficial for the student to have specific materials for practice, I price the materials and discuss it with the parents.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I ask the student to discuss where they believe they are having difficulty. I would also like to see samples of their work if they are school age. Next is very important. I want the student to tell me how they learn best. I will assist with questions and answers. Once the lesson begins it is best if there are no interruptions and distractions. All questions will be based on positive authentic interactions. I will provide materials and or suggestions for plans for the week. At some point I may ask for permission to talk with a student's teacher if applicable.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes it is absolutely necessary. I do attend all district training. I read extensively about the brain and learning. You must always have a bag of tricks so to speak because children learn differently. You must be able to find out what works best with each child. I have been trained in several states and that knowledge stays with you as a professional.
