We had wanted the living room, hallway, and kitchen painted along with the baseboards, trim and doors. The pro quoted $1,000, which all the pros I talked to quoted $900-$1200. He assured us that a crew would come out and take care of everything. The first red flag was he seemingly was insulted when I asked for photos of his previous projects, but then he showed me the stuff he had did for his wife which looked nice. His schedule fit our schedule so we hired. He told us 2-3 days, he told us he had the equiptment. The day before starting, he said we needed to buy the equiptment! He attempted to have us just pay for the items over the phone at the store he selected, we said no send us a list and we will get them. We got the list of stuff the morning before the arrival. We started to get wary as I stumbled upon the yelp reviews! All negative but also only were about over spray which he said he wouldn’t be using the sprayer and about more construction not painting. He had left his SINGLE painter to complete the whole job by himself! The painter did paint very nice and neat, the first day he used the drop cloths to protect the floor except when he got to the other side of the room. The next, day the man only painted 1 wall! Came at 10am and left at 1pm! 1 wall for a whole day! We were told 2-3 days! No way was this going to be done by 1 man in 2-3 days! So day 3 comes and he does most of the hallways then says we need another gallon of paint, that is because so much left over paint has been disposed of the previous 2 days. So on the 3rd day I asked the painter if it would be finished tomorrow, he said he wouldn’t be able to finish everything tomorrow, it would be the day after. We just decided to cancel the project at this point. When we were told crew we expected at least 2 people, when we brought it up to the owner he said if we wanted 2 people we would have to pay more. He was very rude and told us I gave you a great price, leave it alone. How rude! The floors and blinds had been dripped on due to lack of proper preparation, understandably the poor guy was tired doing everything on his own! 1 wall completed in a whole day then left at 1 is BEYOND ridiculous! 2-3 days turned into 5 like we didnt plan a schedule based on what we were told initially! Then when we said we would pay for the work done he repeatedly asked for it sent by zelle, cashapp, venmo and without giving a chance to pay him threatened to put a lien on the house and take us to small claims court! The lack of professionalism, over promising and under delivering, never using the equiptment to protect the things in the home which is one of the yelp reviews complaints! I had wanted to use the same guy for a series of services but the fact he knew he over promised and under delivered then has the nerve to be ridiculously rude on top of it! Never again!
