Matt was quick to respond here on Thumbtack. He made things easy on me by hearing what I wanted and sending a picture of a similar past project. Based on that style, size of my patio, and budget we were able to arrive at the cost and agree to move forward fairly quickly. Matt's standard contract covered all the bases and made sure things were clear for both sides. We picked a date on his schedule a couple of weeks out for the project to start. He also helped me handle my city’s permit process for the construction. At every stage Matt found small ways to impress us without doing anything out of his ordinary process. Over the four days of the project, it was exciting to watch the structure come together. Even at the intermediate stages it was a clearly a beautiful construction. It was just a little thing among many, but there was even a moment when a member of his crew made a mistake and broke something (his property not mine). The helper was embarrassed and worried, but even in that moment Matt was cool and kind to his team member even though another crew boss might have started yelling. That all just seems to be Matt’s level of professionalism. The whole experience exceeded my very high expectations and hopes, and resulted in my new patio cover I will enjoy for many years to come.
