Introduction: Our customers make the quilt tops and we do the quilting on a computerized long-arm Gammill machine. All quilts take time to create and the quilting should enhance the effort you have put into your quilt. My goal is to accentuate your piecing with my machine quilting skills. I will care for your quilt as if it were my own. Each quilt is handled individually in a smoke-free environment. Creating a custom quilting design to enhance the beauty of your quilt top is the most exciting part of long-arm quilting. Each quilting pattern is designed with the quilt's pattern, fabric, use and theme in mind -- from baby quilts and wall-hangings to king-sized primary bed coverings, the custom design is individual.

Susan is a true professional that speaks the language of a quilter. I arrived with a queen sized quilt top (my first) and came home with a beautifully quilted quilt and binding. Susan understood that I had never used the services of quilter before. She walked me through everything, selection of binding, selection of quilt back, quilting design and costs. She shopped for binding and backing fabric, very reasonably priced, and presented a receipt for everything she bought. I am more than impressed with her work and will be taking a twin sized quilt top to her next week. She’s wonderful and her work brought my quilt top to the quilt I imagined and will happily gift to my granddaughter for Christmas.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prices range from .035/sq.in for "Edge-to-Edge" (E2E) patterns to .045/sq.in for personally designed, detailed, custom quilting. I specialize in custom quilting designs that highlight the quilt pattern, fabric, and/or applique without overwhelming the quilters' piecing work. I provide batting of your choice (80/20 blend, washable wool) at my wholesale prices. Binding pricing is extra for make and machine applied, or hand-stitched. A detailed price is quoted and agreed upon before quilting begins. Free shipping to and from my shop if the customer is located outside the Phoenix area.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After seeing the quilt, I will suggest E2E or custom quilting. We mutually agree on the pattern, batting, binding, thread color(s) and price before quilting begins.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been an IT professional for over 25 years, giving me deep expertise designing custom patterns using a CAD/CAM-type program for my long-arm quilting machine. Quilts I make for myself and/or favorite charities have won first-place/best-of-show ribbons at State Fairs and quilt-show competitions.
