I took lessons from Matthew for one summer during high school. I was really new to playing jazz, and wanted to learn more. Being somebody who understood both classical and jazz, he really helped me tie the two together and bring the world of jazz closer to what I already knew. He's a wonderful teacher for both anyone trying to learn bass!

Matthew is fantastic! He is very punctual and communicative, and truly knows his craft. He is well versed in a variety of music styles and truly knows the instrument. He has been exceedingly patient with my daughter; she really enjoys her lessons and has even been practicing without reminders. For my daughter he has made learning fun and accessible. For me he has been responsible and professional. I cannot recommend him enough.
