I believe a great photographer relies greatly on research as well as spontaneity. I study my photo subject before a shoot in order to determine the best angle to photograph from. Preparation ahead of a shoot alleviates heavy editing after. I love that I have the ability to interact with people and nature, and sometimes those two intermingle beautifully.

I booked April for a five hour booking to capture our company Christmas party on Dec 6, 2014. April arrive promptly to begin our evening. We started at the hotel bar for cocktail hour. She joined us on the party bus to the restaurant for dinner then to our private lounge at our office. She completely captured the night and our crazy team! She sent the pictures on time as promised and we are more than pleased! The pictures are awesome and organized into albums documenting our entire evening. We will definitely book April for future events!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take classes from the Houston Center for Photography as well as Rice University, Glasscock School of Continuing Studies as well as tune in to Webinars provided by PhotoShelter.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Working on the yearbook committee in high school sparked my interest in documenting people, places and things. I've carried that interest along to my adult life, carrying my camera along for the ride.
