About
Hi, I have been installing solar since 2004. I was the first state licensed solar installer in my home state of Louisiana where I installed over 1,000 systems. I am a NABCEP certified PV Installation Professional and I am certified by most every equipment manufacture on the market, including Tesla, Generac, LG Chem, SolarEdge, Enphase, Outback, and SMA. I am passionate about providing quality installations that are going to last at reasonable prices. I am a licensed drone pilot. I use drones to create a 3D design of the system and model production. My company is fully licensed and insured. I also install solar pool heaters. In addition to solar, being a Texas state licensed master electrician I can do any electrical upgrades/installation project you may need. I install car chargers, home automation, generators and generator inlets.

Comparing the work Security Solar did to my last solar company is night and day. They delivered immediately, worked efficiently, and accommodated all of the changes I requested during the change. I'm truly thankful for them and could not recommend them more. I will certainly be hiring them for all future solar projects. Thanks so much!

We had to have our roof replaced, so our Solar Panels needed to come down. The company that was doing our roof was gonna charge us a crazy amount for removal of the solar panels and to reinstall. After research, I looked up security solar who came out and quoted me Half of what the roofing company wanted to charge. They did great work everything passed inspection, post reinstallation and we are back on track. Thank you for all the work you guys did 😊

They were very professional. They discovered an error on the original installation and completely addressed the situation. They did way more than I hoped to get done so I am extremely grateful for what they did to address our solar system. I reached out to them because our original company went out of business.

We found a leak in our roof and before deciding on Security Solar I got a few quotes and they were definitely the most affordable for my repair. Jeremie was very friendly and answered all of my questions. The solar company that we originally used went out of business so I will definitely be calling them back if anything else comes up. I really appreciate urgency they took to come and repair my roof.

I'm incredibly disappointed in the service I received from this company. I spoke with Jeremie before going with them and he seemed knowledgeable. I elected to move forward and everything went down hill at that point. First, scheduling was a huge pain. I had to follow up several times to see when they were coming. Jeremie would promise a date and then claim they got tied up on another job. Finally when they did show up they installed our equipment in the wrong place. I specifically requested in a text message to have the inverter and wall mount batteries installed in our garage. They installed them outside on the back of our home. Jeremie admitted his mistake but when they took them down it left 20+ drilled screws from where they mounted the equipment. We have a barndominium metal building so these are not easily covered up. They even left the mounting brackets from the conduit that they installed. Once everything was finally installed I started to test the loads from the house. I noticed that the batteries were draining very quickly. I texted Jeremie and he mentioned they would come back out to take a look. I then started to go through the settings. I quickly realized that they had failed to turn on the BMS or adequately changed any settings on the solark inverter. I had also specifically asked Jeremie to install a chargeverter with our system. He initially pushed back mentioning that the inverter could handle generator power. I let him know that while I understand that it can I would prefer to use a chargeverter to hopefully not reduce the life of our inverter due to a poor sine wave from the generator. He agreed to install it and wrote it on the quote. There was some confusion over this because I mentioned that I would purchase it when we were talking about. When he put it on the quote I thought that meant he was going to order it with the other solar equipment. I realized this was a miscommunication and agreed to order it myself and he agreed to come back and install. Once I received it I let him know I had it and asked that he have someone back out to install. He did arrange for this, but again had very poor communication around scheduling. His guy arrived one evening when I was at my son's soccer practice and he called and texted asking me where I wanted it to be installed. Because there was no prior scheduling I was not expecting this call and so I was not able to tell him what I wanted. When I got home I went to look at the install. He had installed the chargverter directly into one of the battery inputs on the inverter. This immediately tripped the breaker even just turning on the chargverter without the generator running. This tells me that the guy that came out didn't even try to test his work. I did not agree that this should have been installed directly to a battery input on the inverter and I let Jeremie know this. He said it was electrically the same as installing it anywhere else. I disagreed with this and reached out to signature solar where I had bought the chargeverter. They confirmed that it should not be installed this way. I reached back out to Jeremie and at this point he basically stopped communicating with me since in his mind it's installed correctly. With all of the problems I had been having I opened the wire trough just to see how it was done. Upon opening it I found the extra Ethernet cords in bags, other trash, and tools just left inside of this wire box. This is incredibly unsafe and a potential fire hazard. I even found a knife left inside of the inverter itself. I let Jeremie know about all of this and I didn't even get a response. And lastly, At no point did Jeremie or any of his installers try to go over the system with me to be sure I understood how it worked.

Security Solar, LLC's reply
Response from Jeremie – Security Solar Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. I take customer satisfaction very seriously, and I’d like to address several of the points raised for clarification. Communication: From the start, communication was challenging. After the quote was accepted, it took approximately three weeks of calls, emails, and texts before I received a response to the initial deposit request needed to schedule your project. Throughout the installation process, there were often long delays between messages, which made coordinating the schedule and site work more difficult. That said, I do understand construction projects can be hectic, and I apologize for any frustration caused. Equipment Placement: The inverter was initially installed outside due to existing wiring and access points that had already been routed through the main service panel to the back of the home. Relocating it to the garage required additional work, including cutting through interior plywood and rerouting and replacing cabling. Despite this, I acknowledged the concern and offered to repair or replace the affected metal siding at no charge. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response to schedule that repair. System Programming: Your inverter was not connected to the internet at the time of installation because the property is fully off-grid and still under construction. The settings issue could have been corrected remotely if internet access had been available. Site Cleanliness: Any extra materials or components left in the wire trough were spare parts intended for future use should the system be connected to the grid later. These items posed no electrical or fire hazard. Chargeverter Installation: Regarding the EG4 Chargeverter, your inverter (Sol-Ark) already includes a dedicated generator input designed for battery charging. The Chargeverter and Sol-Ark are not officially compatible. Technical support from Signature Solar often follows a script, and real-world integration experience can vary. Electrically, connecting the Chargeverter to the inverter is equivalent to connecting directly to the battery and the batteries do not have a second terminal for connecting additional equipment directly, though I understand your concerns and the confusion about ordering and installation timing. While this project faced communication and scheduling challenges, my goal has always been to provide you with a safe, functional, and efficient solar system. I remain willing to address the siding repair and review system settings if you’d like to schedule a follow-up visit. Sincerely, Jeremie Branton Security Solar 512-96-SOLAR Finally, based on timing of this negative review which was right after the first cold night since installation, I suspect that the real issue here is not so much the installation itself, but that the system that the customer specifically specified is not preforming as the customer had desired through no fault of my own. During the planning stage of this installation, I expressed concern over the size of the system and its ability to operate the entire home off grid, especially in winter. I recommended the HVAC units be changed to use gas instead of electric or at least be upgraded to heat pumps. Since the customer will not return my phone calls or text messages I have to assume that the system was unable to carry the home’s load running the electric strip heaters overnight and the customer is upset that what he has installed will have to be added to, HAVC equipment altered, or electricity supplemented to meet the homes energy demands and this is the real, underlying issue in this negative review.
