FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is not complicated. I will work out a pricing schedule that works for my client. For the simplest of letters - perhaps a strong edit on a college or graduate school entrance exam - in most cases that will be about $50; writing one from material you provide is $50-$100. A standard press release, around $100-150, and for a 20-minute speech, depending on the amount of research involved, $150 to $300. A book edit will be a fraction of the market rate, as low as $1 per page. I generally require half of the fee up front, with the remainder due upon completion, meaning it is due only when the customer is happy with the final product. Finally, please do not let any price listed here stand in your way. I will work with any reasonable budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
"Whatever is most convenient and easy for the customer" is my motto. Generally, the customer provides base material and I go to work. When a draft is complete, the customer and I will coordinate to make sure the project is exactly what meets the customer's needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I always follow the latest trends in communications.
