About
I am detail oriented, value my clients' time and understand their love and care for their home. I work on each home as if it is my own and understand that if a client is happy, it is an excellent reflection on my work. Because I have built my business on repeat clients, referrals and positive reviews, it is my aim to have satisfied customers on every job I am hired for. I absolutely love talking through problems with clients, coming up with the best solution and then implementing what we discussed. This could be for a renovation, wall repairs and painting, or fixing broken items. And when the project is finished, the look on a happy client's face is very satisfying to me.

Mr. Strackman is an excellent handyman! I damaged my wall after removing wallpaper and needed someone to plaster and paint it. Billy was quick to respond to my request and provided me with a quote that's hard to beat. I know, because I had another contractor give me a quote as well and the price was ridiculously more expensive. It's nice to know not everyone in this city is trying to nickel and dime you. Billy is personable, efficient and provides quality services at affordable prices. Highly recommend.

Billy is absolutely the best. I needed a heavy bookshelf secured to a brick/concrete wall. He came in first to see the scope of the work, gave informed recommendations, and then came back a few days later to get it all setup. He was on time, quick, and was extremely helpful every step of the way. He has all the tools and knowledge you'll ever need for any project!

Billy did an excellent job in every way. He hung three very heavy items for me and bolstered a troublesome, sagging shelf. The work looks great and he was prompt, efficient, and courteous. I would definitely hire him again for any type of handy-work.

Billy was amazing. He was professional and efficient, showing up with all the tools and supplies needed to do the work. He figured out how to get the job done in 45 minutes when others had quoted me 3 hours! I would definitely hire Billy again.

Same day service in downtown brooklyn. Reasonable price. He was able to fix the leak in faucet. He spoke well and had working knowledge of plumbing. I will see if he can do other work.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I spent 20 years in banking and like many people in Brooklyn, I bought a home that was a "fixer upper". I took a room at a time and gutted it and ended up with a home that we loved. Our finished home was then flooded by Sandy and we needed to gut the first floor all over again. The silver lining was that it was a great opportunity to make design changes that we might not have made otherwise. After many years of experience, my wife suggested I go into the contraction/ handyman field. I am so happy I did. I love what I do.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you have a concern or question, you should always feel free to ask. If a potential contractor/ handyman is short or dismissive of your concerns before you hire them, that is unlikely to change after they have been hired. So find a contractor/handyman who is both skilled and genuinely interested in addressing your concerns so as the job progresses you feel like you can have an open dialogue. Also, if something goes wrong after the contractor/handyman leaves that was completely unexpected, you should feel free to call them back to take a second look. Some things do happen that couldn't be planned for, and you want someone who is eager to get it right even if that means a follow up visit.
