About
I am detail oriented, value my clients' time and understand their love and care for their home. I work on each home as if it is my own and understand that if a client is happy, it is an excellent reflection on my work. Because I have built my business on repeat clients, referrals and positive reviews, it is my aim to have satisfied customers on every job I am hired for. I absolutely love talking through problems with clients, coming up with the best solution and then implementing what we discussed. This could be for a renovation, wall repairs and painting, or fixing broken items. And when the project is finished, the look on a happy client's face is very satisfying to me.

Billy does beautiful, beautiful work. He is skilled in many areas and a pleasure to deal with. Today he painted a bookcase (two coats), finished plastering a damaged ceiling, replaced floor tiles, installed a light fixture, fixed a door knob, anchored a tall bookcase -- and cleaned up carefully. He used drop cloths to protect the carpet and covered the dining room table before sanding the ceiling. Billy goes out of his way to be helpful. We will hire him again and we will recommend him to others. Thank you, Billy.

i didn't think anyone would take the time/have the patience to 'restring' a very large living room shade that was no longer working. Billy figured it out - he was very patient as it was laborious! He was a good sport about it taking longer than anticipated and did NOT ask for additional money (I did give him more as I thought it was worth more than he asked and for the time it took). He's a gem - everyone should know a Billy!!

Wow. That's great Liz. Thank you so much for your comments.

Same day service in downtown brooklyn. Reasonable price. He was able to fix the leak in faucet. He spoke well and had working knowledge of plumbing. I will see if he can do other work.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I spent 20 years in banking and like many people in Brooklyn, I bought a home that was a "fixer upper". I took a room at a time and gutted it and ended up with a home that we loved. Our finished home was then flooded by Sandy and we needed to gut the first floor all over again. The silver lining was that it was a great opportunity to make design changes that we might not have made otherwise. After many years of experience, my wife suggested I go into the contraction/ handyman field. I am so happy I did. I love what I do.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you have a concern or question, you should always feel free to ask. If a potential contractor/ handyman is short or dismissive of your concerns before you hire them, that is unlikely to change after they have been hired. So find a contractor/handyman who is both skilled and genuinely interested in addressing your concerns so as the job progresses you feel like you can have an open dialogue. Also, if something goes wrong after the contractor/handyman leaves that was completely unexpected, you should feel free to call them back to take a second look. Some things do happen that couldn't be planned for, and you want someone who is eager to get it right even if that means a follow up visit.
