FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

As a kid in my country, I always had to take part in whatever my father was doing at home and day to day basics. Whenever I was not in school we would go fishing so i would learn fishing or if we were in the house we would fix our home, whether it was painting, adding a new room, remodeling rooms and anything else that had to do with interior works.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

The most recent job I am most proud of is my home. We had brought our house in April when we moved from New York. When we got the place, it was so empty we could fit a big dance floor with a DJ and everything. A small background of our house; it used to be a bar back in the 50's or 60's then it was later used for a daycare and lastly it was brought by a Cuban guy who used it for a clothing store called "Ismania Store", his business eventually crashed and the property was isolated for about 2 years or so until my wife and brought it. Once it was ours, I quickly grabbed a pencil and my notebook and together we began to design our new home. Since it was a 2 sided area we decided to work and live on one side first then built the second half and rent it later. We decided to create a one floor home with 6 bedroom, 4 bathrooms, 2 living rooms and two kitchens. As the months went by I began to frame one part of the house with the leftover wood and drywall that was inside. I measured the sizes of the rooms and drilled all the wood I could find and buy. I later installed the electricity cables I needed for each room and fixed the cross-wires we had on the ceiling fans. Thereafter, we brought the drywall to close the rooms, began plastering and painting with my wife in a couple of weeks. We brought and installed marble for the whole kitchen and brought cabinets which we drilled on the top wall of the kitchen and where we also added our oven microwave and drilled up there too. the electrical appliances came gradually. So far we have done in the past 4 months are: 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 living room and 1 kitchen. We decided to eliminate one bedroom for our side and replace with a home office for my wife. We will be working on the next side as soon as our business starts rising.
