- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Remember the phrase: Garbage in equals garbage out. Accounting is an area that small business owners try to short cut and go cheap on. And while sometimes it works to do it yourself or ask your receptionist to double as the accountant, more often than not, it doesn't work. I get a lot of business from owners who's accounting records are very messy due to having someone who wasn't familiar with the software, the business needs, or just not their background. And it costs you MORE money for an accountant to fix the mess and THEN go forward, than what it costs to just hire the right professional from the start. It pays to spend a few extra dollars and get a CPA to do or review your business accounts, records, and taxes. And that's where a contract-accountant/ CPA comes in handy. Pay for me when you need me. Don't hire me full-time, only on a part-time/ as needed basis.
