Amy was incredible! Very personable, very knowledgable about dogs, and gave us techniques and tips to help improve our dog's hyper-vigilance and reactive behaviors on walks. We intend on having her back to work with Chikku for sure! She also has a very interesting background which gives her a deeper level of understanding behavior and psychology, which definitely shows in her ability to train dogs!

Amy is the best dog trainer we’ve ever come across and we’ve tried everywhere! She immediately identified the problem and began giving us the tools to fix it. She was patient and understanding, she explained our dogs body language and her reasoning at every step. She had no problem with our dogs’ size (65lb) or breed (Pit/Great Dane) and was very knowledgeable about our dogs’ fears. She gave us hope that our dog won’t live her life afraid and the tools to fix it!

In just the few days Amy took care of my dogs while I was travelling I already see the change. What a difference being patient, calm and taking your time makes. Hire this lady! Listen to what she says! It works! I now feel like I can travel and not be worried about my fur babies. Amy wasn't even phased by my crazies. She even got 2 of the 7 treadmill trained!!!! I've had a hard time even getting my pups on leash much less exercised and out the door. Any/Every time I have to leave my fur kids at home, Amy and FURever Home is my pet sitter.

Amy is absolutely fantastic! We first contacted her to try and correct my dog's aggressive behavior towards strangers. Before the first house visit, we talked on the phone and I explained to her how my 2 dogs typically acted when new people came to our house, and the types of behaviours my dogs were showing. We also talked about our previous experiences with other trainers, and what I wanted to get from the training sessions. Amy was very clear with the instructions we needed to follow before she entered our house to meet the dogs, and by following those instructions we were able to prevent any incidents. Amy explained why our dog was aggressive and the effect that the behavior of my second dog was having on the aggressive one. She suggested a few tools we could use to better handle the situation, like a muzzle and a slip leash, and we found that they helped us control our dogs much better. We en ended up working with amy for 6 hours, and she was great! She explained to us why the dogs behaved the way they did, and what we humans needed to do to fix it. She even travelled to Hunstville to meet us for a training session there. Overall, our dogs are better behaved, and we even had ca. 10 people at home one time, and my dog who was considered aggressive did not even bark at the new people in the house. We are very pleased we found Amy, and we thank her for all the work she did with us. Our lives are better because of Amy, we reccomend her 100%

AMY IS THE MOST AMAZING PERSON, AND THE DOG TRAINER I HAVE EVER MET. WITH IN MINUTES SHE HAD CHANGED MY DOG. WITH IN 20 MINUTES SHE WAS ALSO TRAINIG ME. WE HAD A 2 HOUR SESSION. TRUST ME IT WAS HARDER FOR ME, THAN MY DOG. HANNAH (MY DOG), AND I, ARE ALREADY HAVING THE BEST WALKS EVER. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE AMY AGAIN NEXT WEEK, TO SHOW HER THE IMPROVEMENTS WE HAVE MADE. MY GOAL IS TO GO THE BEACH AGAIN, AND LET HANNAH PLAY IN THE WATER. IF THERE IS ANYONE WHO NEEDS A REALLY GOOD DOG TRAINER, PLEASE CALL AMY. THANK YOU, LIZ SENSBAUGH

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My starting rate is $75 hour. Price is based on distance. A trip fee may be added. Prices subject to change without notice. Payment is cash or PayPal money transfer. No personal checks or credit cards. NO REFUNDS.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I continually read animal behavior journals, animal nutrition journals and the latest information about canine health. Every day is a new day to learn something for me.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to start FURever Home and be a behavioral consultant because of my love for all animals, but, specifically, dogs. I want to help educate society about breed discrimination. I do this work because it's my small way of curbing the pet over population problem and animal cruelty/abandonment.
