Introduction: We are reopening our private training lessons out of your home for the Spring and Humble areas while maintaining our board and train program for the entire Harris and Montgomery Counties. Please call for additional information. My program begins by talking to you to find out exactly what you are looking to accomplish out of the training program. I then schedule an appointment time to pick your dog up from your home, and bring them back to my home. From their, your dog lives with me, as if they were living in your home. This way i can see for myself exactly what bad manners your dog may have, and begin correcting this issues so that when I return your dog to your home, their bad behavior has been corrected. This is done while bringing your dog to an Advanced level of obedience. What is Advanced Obedience? Advanced Obedience is your dog walking by your side, without pulling on the leash. When you stop walking, your dog automatically sits, without a command from you. Your dog sitting or laying down, when you give the command, and staying that way, without having to give another command. And all of these tasks are completed on AND off leash. inside or out. Along with Recall commands, in motion commands, and even what I call a Climb command, having your dog jump on any elevated surface, and stay there without further command, until you release them. While on the "Climb", they are not allowed to leave it, destroy or chew on it, or make noise while on it. Anything else is fair game. When is this useful, when the Pizza man shows up at your door, and you have to leave the door open while paying him and bringing in the pizza. Just place your dog on a climb, and you don't have to worry about them running out the door while you get everything organized. That is just one example of its many uses, however, I am positive you will find MANY more uses for this command. I myself find it to be the most useful command in my arsenal for my 3 dogs. My board and train program, includes all the equipment necessary to ensure your dog is well trained, and all the equipment goes home to you, with your dog at the end of training. When I bring your dog home, I provide a training lesson for you, so you may learn how to maintain your dogs training for years to come. I also offer a follow up visit if necessary, to assist you with any new issues your dog may be having within the first month AFTER the training program is complete. I also offer free telephone support or advice whenever you have questions. I understand what it takes for a dog owner to be happy with their dog. But I also understand, that dogs will be dogs. My job as a professional Dog Trainer, is to not only teach the dog the basics, its also to teach the owner. A problem that many dog trainers, are not willing to fix. My job, as a professional dog trainer is to ensure that you, your family, AND your dogs live a happy, peaceful, stress free life with each other. That is the goal, and we will work with you until that goal is achieved. Once the training is complete, and for the rest of your dogs life, we offer pet sitting at your home, while you are away. This includes coming to your home, 2 times per day, morning and night, letting your dog out, feeding them, making sure they have fresh water, giving them some love and play time, and a quick refresher lesson of there training. This allows you to leave your dog home, while you vacation away, rather than putting them in a boarding facility. Prices are VERY reasonable, but based on location or distance from our home. This is my passion, I worked for 8 years, trying to raise enough money to be able to attend the school of my choice, and take a minimum of 6 months off the work force, with next to no income, in order for me to follow my passion, and my dreams. Hard work has paid off, and now, I work for my self, doing what I love, doing what makes me happy, and following my truest passions. I am a Professional Dog Trainer.

There are not enough stars to show how Incredibly happy my family & I are after our experience with Lichtig's K-9 Academy. Bryce & Angie were very professional, knowledgable & always positive with our dogs. You can tell that they genially care about the animals. They offered us private at-home lessons for 2 young GSP's that are now the pleasant family dogs we've always dreamed of! In only 6 short lessons our dogs are able to follow ALL basic commands, walk without a leash & stay until released. We now have the tools & knowledge we need to continue to help our dogs along in their training. They are always available to answer any of our questions. I would highly recommend Lichtig's K9 Academy to anyone looking for a great dog training experience.

Before we contacted Bryce, we were at our wits end. We had two out of control dogs that we couldn't take out in public as they were aggressive toward people and other dogs. We live in a populated subdivision and were just waiting for something bad to happen. Within the first visit from Bryce, which was a no charge consultation, we learned some easy Key exercises that had an immediate impact. By the third visit were taking stress free walks in public places and dogs were sitting and staying on command. We even took them to an outdoor car show with no issue. They are like two different dogs that we can now enjoy without all the stress we had before. Never thought we could ever get to this point.

My husband and I just finished Bryce and Angie's six week basic to advanced obedience training and behavior correction. We couldn't be happier! Trigger (our australian shepard/blue heeler mix puppy ) came with no training, and a fear aggression to new people and other dogs. Per our request, not only did Bryce train our dog to full obedience, but he also brought in his dogs (super well trained, to an impressive competition level) to help Trigger learn how to greet new dogs. We spent six weeks learning sit, lay down, climb (an awesome, rare obedience technique of stay), loose-leash walking, heel, sit and lay down while in a heel command, leave it, down, and free (another awesome command). He taught Trigger these steps, but also worked with my husband and I to help us understand why trigger was acting out, or how he understands each command. We couldn't be happier with our transformed puppy! Bryce and Angie came to our place to work with Trigger in our own environment, and that in and of itself sold us! These two are the real deal, havung trained for six months to a professional level, and they were worth every single penny! Our only regret? Not calling them sooner!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We are back, and restarting our Training program. We are now training out of our home, located in Spring TX. We are only taking on one client at a time, and are customizing the training as much as we can to suit your needs. IE. Since we are operating out of our home now for the training, if you don't want to allow your dogs on the furniture, we can work on preventing your dog from getting on our furniture, or staying out of the kitchen. Just as an example. Our program runs for a minimum of 10 days, but normally runs about 14 days. There is no set time however, I keep your dog until I am happy with your dogs progression and your dog is trained the way you want them trained. It hasn't happened yet, but in the event I have to keep your dog more than 21 Days, Additional charges may apply, however I will be in contact with you long before any additional charges are applied, and will only be applied upon your approval. The initial price for our board and train program, includes all training materials, Such as Training collars, elevated pet bed, and a leather leash, which all go home with your dog. So, with the exception of the over 21 days of training, there are no additional or hidden costs. The quoted price is the actual price you will pay for the whole training program.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am one of those trainers mentioned earlier, that attended a VERY prestigious school for 6 months. The school cost me nearly $13,000 just to attend the school. That did not include the 2 puppies we had to purchase, and then train to competition level, supplies, room and board, training aids, and tools of the trade. Among other things. The school worked us from normally 6:00 AM through 10:00 PM Monday Through Friday, had us teaching group lessons on Saturday's until roughly 4:00 PM, then had to train our own dogs after the group lessons, and Sundays were supposedly our days off, but had to do laundry, grocery shopping, and once again, train our own dogs. This school was probably 90% hands on training with real live puppies. This school taught me alot about training dogs, but it also taught me things to NOT do. Now, that i have left the school, and been working my own business for nearly 2 years now, I have learned multiple ways to adjust my training program for each individual dog. The trick to being a successful trainer, is to ensure you can adapt to any dogs situation, and not get locked onto a single idea as to how a dog is supposed to be. Once again, like people, EVERY dog is different in one way or another.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My passion for, and love for dogs is what got me into this industry. I have started slowly, just doing private lessons in clients homes, Then moving to a Board and Train program at a local Veterinary clinic, And now, I'm simply doing a Board and Train out of my own home. Eventually, I would like to own my own Building, where I can provide Day care services/ Boarding services/ and Training Services, all with state of the art equipment, and hopefully a reputation to change the way others in this business do business. But for now, Training out of my home is the next best thing and makes for a perfect training environment.
