- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It's been my passion since I was a little girl... Playing in my mom's makeup and providing makeovers to my little sister, neighbors, and cousins. I didn't realize it was a career option until I was 20 and got to work on he set of a movie. I could not stop watching the makeup artists on set and though how amazing that would be. I got my first cosmetic job at 20 years old, working for Clinique in a department store and that is where I was introduced to the world of makeup and all the different brands. By 23 I started working for MAC cosmetics. I learned a lot and acquired many clients during my time there. I even did my first paid fashion show with the company. It was a very exciting time and I was like a sponge, learning and absorbing all that I could from my peers and my clients. After 5 years with MAC I ventured into the world if mineral makeup and started working with BareMinerals. I was able to bring my knowledge and expertise in makeup artistry and challenge myself to provide the same application an execution with mineral makeup. I managed a team of 8 during my time and help to develop their artistry and customer service skills.
