Ms. Samples-Smart was extremely knowledgeable about everything it was going to take to secure my apartment with peace of mind! I was excited to support a small black woman owned business as a black woman myself (with one on the way) and chose her over two other security companies on ThumbTack. I entrusted her to install my Ring security system and while she did show up the first time (the internet went out midway so she had to come back another day), we scheduled for her to come the following weekend. I stayed home waiting and the scheduled appointment time passed with no indication of being late or having to reschedule. I reached out and she stated to reschedule. Sure. That left a slightly sour taste in my mouth as I had to push another plan back since I carved time in my schedule for the security installation, but things happen.
We then rescheduled for later in the week. I worked night shift that day and made sure to wake up early in order to meet the scheduled appointment time. Yet again, the scheduled appointment time comes and we are met with a no show. I reached out, exasperated, because we have had no prior communication of needing to reschedule or being late. Since partial installation from the first go-round was still intact, I chose not to touch it and wait for professionals.
It was very inconsiderate and I after the second time, I chose to go with another service. The other service came to my house the following morning at 8am and finished the installation within two hours. The professional who came into my house also noted how one of the pieces that was installed by Kay on the first go-around was not installed properly and also not in a convenient location. He fixed it promptly and my security system has been working with no issues for the past few days.
If anyone needs to install a Ring security system, please bypass this company and go straight to OnTech. OnTech was knowledgeable and also showed up on time, no questions asked (in fact, they showed up even 15 minutes early!). I am sad because I rarely ever write reviews and was hesitant on writing this one because I don’t want to harm any small business, however, I feel like it is appropriate in this instance to state my experience.

Kay did an odd job for us. And was very thorough. She inspected an unoccupied apartment did all requested items on the checklist, took pictures throughout, confirmed all TV's and WIFI worked. Will definitely use again when we have upcoming jobs in the area. :)
