Introduction: 'By The Book Plumbing LLC' is a family run company between James and Dana Smith that serves the Woodlands, Spring, Tomball, Magnolia, and greater North Houston area. We were founded on the basis of providing homeowners with an upfront expectation that their plumbing needs would be performed to a higher standard. Our company performs all work in accordance with each city's adopted Code Book, and will only send out licensed, qualified plumbers which have met the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiner's requirements. Our mission is to perform an exemplary plumbing service by providing a best in class experience that respects our client's home, time, and budget. After witnessing a homeowner's plumbing problem, we provide an upfront quote that addresses the problem and a way forward on how to correct it. We believe in the quality of our work so much that we are able to provide a 1 year warranty on most installations, repairs, and services. Our motto is "When you want it done right, you want it done By The Book"! We hope you will give us an opportunity to earn your business for both your future and current plumbing needs.

Contacted him for installation of my toilet after tile was upgraded. James informed me of a more efficient toilet, one that is taller and looks great He also had a new shower head that gave my bath a completed new look I can say job well done..Thanks

Professional, timely, and excellent communication! My shower drain was clogging up frequently. James came out and was able to find the problem....nails! Apparently the builders allowed nails to go down the drain and did not take them out. He was able to remove them all and my drain has worked perfectly since. Will definitely use again!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All verbal or electronic quotes are speculative at best. Once our plumber is able to physically see the problem, he will present an accurate quote on the best way to proceed to repair or replace the item. We do offer discounts for those who serve our community as First Responders, Law Enforcement Officers, Military Veterans (active or retired), and additionally for Senior Citizens 55+. Bulk pricing discounts are available for both Water Heaters and new Toilets supplied by our company. Check out our website at ByTheBookPlumbing.com for additional discounts we offer.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We prefer to take down the customer's name, address, and email in order to save to our system for future reference. After that, we set a window of time to arrive at the jobsite to give an accurate bid.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
By The Book Plumbing is owned by James Smith, Texas Responsible Master Plumber license number #41669. James has over 10 years in the Plumbing Trade. We are certified through "Uponor" Pex and "Gastite" to work on their respective product.
