Hi, my name is Jennifer and I have been sewing for over 20 years! I am based in the St. Louis area. In 2021 I decided to turn my hobby into a full time freelance business, offering alterations, sewing lessons, and custom designs to residents of Houston Texas. Highlights included showing garments in two fashion shows, and creating a line for the fashion brand Shein! Passing on my skills to others through private lessons is also a huge achievement!
I can tutor both younger and older students. I teach fundamental skills in hand sewing and machine sewing, and classes are customized to your learning goals. I have a diverse knowledge of sewing that I am happy to share with my
students. My students appreciate my zen-like patience and how I focus on teaching the “why” of each technique.

Jenny's response to my proposed project was quick and considerate. Her quoted price was fair and affordable. We made arrangements for me to deliver my jacket - in need of a closure repair/replacement - when it was convenient for us both. Due to a lack of clarity on my part as to precisely what I needed done, the initial work required an adjustment, which took a little extra time that Jenny accomplished with alacrity and pleasantness. It would be difficult for me to imagine a more agreeable, complimentary or professional connection for what I needed. I offer Jenny my highest and unqualified recommendation for your sewing needs.

Jennifer is a lifesaver/miracle worker/goddess!! I bought a ball gown that was a size too small and didn’t have enough time to return it for a bigger size before our event - in a short amount of time she was able to let out the seams, insert a new modesty panel in the back where the corset is and add length to the corset lacing. And it looks so good on me now I wanna cry. Thank you SO MUCH!! I will be back for more alterations!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every tenth hour of sewing instruction is free of charge!
A traveling fee of 50 cents per mile is charged for all mobile services.
Cancellation policy:
The lesson fee is nonrefundable if the appointment is cancelled the same day, and 50% refundable if cancelled one day prior. If cancelled two or more days prior to the appointment, the fee is refunded 100%.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will contact you to set up a consultation call so that we can determine your level of sewing experience, learning goals, and lesson logistics. Lessons are paid for in advance. A lesson must be officially secured up to three days before the scheduled lesson.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Countless hours of dedicated practice. I have been sewing for over 20 years, and currently design and draft my projects. I did freelance sewing work for almost 2 years, working with individuals as well as companies.
