About

I am a positive force-free trainer that specializes in puppy development, obedience, and specific behavior modification. I use positive reinforcement and the least intrusive methods backed by science. These methods create a better relationship and clear communication between you and your beloved furry family member. I believe there is no place for aversive tools or methods when a trainer knows how to effectively communicate with the whole picture of a pet. Many times frustration in miscommunication is what leads owners to these outdated and sometimes inhumane methods. I want to teach you how to achieve an alternative to undesired behaviors and reinforce the things we want them to do. I absolutely love providing a positive learning environment and experience for you and your dogs.

We were at a loss for how to deal with our hyper Brittany puppy Gemma and my older cat, Mr. Riley Darcy. Almost immediately we could see changes in Gemma with tricks that are fun for all of us. Miss Gemma has come a long way so far and Roseanna is always early, available via messages, and super positive and good with our pup! There is always something valuable to take away from sessions and we couldn't be happier with Better Pups.

Very easy to work with. Super flexible. And super good with dogs, which goes even further I’d say! I’ve got a 3 month old husky, and he warmed up very quick because she knows what she’s doing! Positive reinforcement training is what I was looking for, and Roseanna delivered! Don’t hesitate if you get the chance to work with Better Pups. You won’t regret it!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing starts with 1 Initial Session with a $50 Thumbtack Discount. Single or Package rates will apply after the first session. There are many options available to ensure success with your PUP. Refer to pricing on my website at betterpupsdogtraining.com
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a phone consultation or chat via email to talk about the dog, training goals, and any other important information. From there, you may book an initial session. After the initial session, we will discuss training plans with several packages available.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education degree has given me many beneficial skills in working with people and children. Planning and clear communication are key to educating anyone be it human or canine. I have also had a lifelong passion for animals. I originally wanted to be a marine mammal trainer and attended sea world camp senior year summer of high school before college. I have volunteered at many places with access to not only domesticated and exotic animals such as The Gentle Zoo and The Dallas Zoo. Animal behavior was always very valuable to observe and learn from when working with these different species. I also have experience in the pet care industry. I worked for a large pet retail chain and a doggie daycare.
