I debated doing this review because I don’t want to ruin someone’s reputation. But I keep getting mail and got several texts and calls after the job was done. I’m giving Roy a 2 because he showed up and he did the job. Things he did wrong “In my opinion”. 1. He told me he would be here at 8am. He called me at 8 and told me he was on his way. Approximately ½ an hour late. 2. I didn’t mind him bring his wife for the estimate but he also brought her to do the job. Mind you she was a very friendly lady but I didn’t appreciate it when she picked up the power tool to help him. I hired HIM not her. 3. After he gave me the estimate I proceeded to go outside to BBQ. I missed 6 calls from him. When I called him back, he told me he forgot to get some money for the parts. I reminded him that in his quote he told me it was for parts and labor. So, he had to buy the parts. 4. When he arrived, he pulled out some plastic tubing to hook my outdoor hose up. It wasn’t the proper tubing for and outdoor hook-up. I took a piece of it that he left laying in my yard to the hardware store and they told me I would probably need to call a plumber the 1st freeze to replace the piping. 5. He also did a hook-up for my sister next door. He pulled out some insulation and left it laying on the ground. 6. I couldn’t find ANYTHING online about him. I found it kind of strange that Thumbtack has him listed as “Mclennan County Handyman” He gave me a business card with “Daniel’s handyman Services & Home improvements”. But when I signed the contract it was “Roy’s Handyman Services”. I paid all but $75. In cash he had me write the check to his 1st and last name. I tried finding him online… NOTHING 7. I thought I was done but I looked at my water spout as I walked in today and noticed water dribbling down the side of my house. I would not recommend him. Roy did come back to put my sisters insulation back into where it had been pulled out. And he fixed the leaking faucet. Thank you Roy.
