Alex is great and tunes to my preferences, which apparently isn’t the standard way to tune a piano! I hope to use him for many years to come.

Alex did an amazing job with my mom’s very old console piano. It is 60+ years old and I don’t know when it was last serviced. He completely cleaned, adjusted the pitch and tuned with careful attention. When all done it sounded great, had no sticky keys and played like I remembered from when I was a kid. Thank you Alex - we will call on you again in the future.

The best experience I’ve had ever had getting the pianotuned. Alex Reisner was very good about communicating regarding the appointment, letting me know everything i needed to know about what to expect and cost (which was very reasonable). He arrived on time. Was very pleasant and professional. He got right to tuning, even though my dog and cat wanted some attention, he was very patient and kind to them. He finished in a timely manner and made sure everything was in good working order. He even went back and tweaked a few strings that needed a little something extra. There was a little problem with a few keys making a noise that he found was caused by a loose screw. Fixed that right away at no extra charge. I would highly recommend his services to anyone needing tuning/repair. I will certainly contact him in a year when my piano needs tuning again. Well done, Alex!

I had a great experience with Reisner Piano Services. Alex was prompt and explained exactly what I needed to have done in clear terms. I have a 55 year old Yamaha piano that hasn't been tuned in 20 years and it sounds like new. I highly recommend Reisner Piano Services for all your piano needs.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tuning is $120, and pitch raises are an additional $50, plus tax. If it has been a few years since the piano’s last tuning, a pitch raise will most likely be necessary.
I will do basic repairs for free along with tuning. I will give you a quote before starting any larger repairs, or refer you to a restorationist. My hourly rate for repairs is $120.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We schedule a time and confirm on Thumbtack. You provide the address in advance, and let me know if you have any prior questions. I arrive at your door at the scheduled time. You show me to the piano. You clear off any items from on top of the piano, or give me permission to move them. You let me know if you have any particular concerns or questions, then I check the piano regarding them, and we discuss. I get started with tuning and/or repairs. A tuning may last one hour if the piano has been tuned recently, or approximately two hours if requiring a pitch raise, and basic repairs may take an additional half hour. After the tuning, I will test out the piano, then call for you or inform you as you prefer when I am finished. I will give you a quote and confirm before starting any repair that would cost any amount extra, so you will not be surprised.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Apprenticeship from a registered piano technician in the Piano Technician's Guild
