FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually charge a dollar a minute except if I have to travel. I have to charge for travel time and for lugging all my equipment around.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every massage therapist has to take at least 6 continuing educational hours a year to keep their license up to date. I love taking these courses with my two daughters who are also massage therapists. We try to go to any courses to keep up with the many modalities that are offered!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was an educator and a P.E. teacher/coach. I worked with many athletes and massage therapy always helped relax, nerves, pain and much more. When my daughters graduated they loved massages they received before or after their sports events that they were really interested in doing the same type of work. One of my daughters also wants to be a mid-wife and this work is just a start to helping the mother-to-be relax. This type of work is a preventative for a variety of health issues. I love my new career. I liked teaching and coaching but this is so much more relaxing and less stressful.
