Tonya has a thorough knowledge of piano pedagogy and music theory and is very sweet, yet strict with her students. She expects diligence in practicing from her students and praises them when they meet and exceed her expectations. Under her mentorship, my son has soared in his piano playing ability and has come to absolutely love playing the piano. Tonya uses the "Simply Music" method and I believe it to be far superior to the traditional method, especially for my son, who has ADHD. With Simply Music, the students are immediately able to feel the satisfaction of playing songs that sound fantastic, as well as begin their journey as composers. Youtube is filled with videos of children playing multiple complex songs, after only a few months in the program.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Take time to meet all prospective teachers. Most teachers are willing to give a free intro. lesson. The personality and style of you and the teacher should be compatible.
