Introduction: I started as a caricature artist at SeaWorld and Legoland, and after graduating from college became a full time Illustrator. Right now I am open for new projects. Recently I've been working on a coloring book about treating ADHD with food. As far as my style-- family friendly, simple, quick illustrations are my forte, due to my caricature roots. I am "bilingual" in digital as well as traditional art mediums, let me know which you prefer. For samples of my work- google kimberlyheathdesigns, there is a bunny on the homepage. Feel free to look me up on Instagram, kimberlyheathdesigns for more samples. Let's do that project you've been dreaming up! Message me here on Thumbtack with your project idea, and let's get the ball rolling.

Kimberly was AMAZING!! She came to draw my team's caricatures for a fun team meeting. Each one was unique and full of character. She was kind and very personable. She made everyone feel super comfortable and offered lots of options. Thanks for being so awesome!

Kimberly was wonderful! Everyone loved their drawing!! Her experience shows in her drawings; you won't be disappointed. Kimberly is so friendly and was great to work with. She came to our company's family holiday party and she was a big hit for all. The young kids loved getting their picture drawn and the teenagers and adults we made sure they didn't leave without their own caricature done as well.

Stacy: I hope your party planning has gone well this year, thank you for being my first Thumbtack gig. I still remember your party and how nice everyone was! Thanks for having me.

I was a little nervous getting a caricature done—what if Kim made the gap between my front teeth too prominent? But I was so impressed with the final result! She emphasized my unique features in a flattering way that I was really happy with. Highly recommend!
Kimberly Heath Designs, LLC's reply
Thank you! I’m so glad you liked the result. You’re a pretty lady so if I didn’t draw you beautiful it would not look like you!

Kim drew a caricature of me and my boyfriend. What I didn't realize was that he had asked Kim to help him propose. The caricature was so cute that it took me a minute to realize he was proposing with it! We still have it hanging on our wall!

😂 best caricature I’ve ever gotten to do, BECAUSE YOU SAID YES!! Hahahaha!!! :)

I met Kimberly on the UTA on the way back from Conference last October 2014, she was doing caricatures for some of the passengers after we'd boarded the train, I was very impressed with her work!
Kimberly Heath Designs, LLC's reply
Thank you Albert, it was so good to meet you! I hope to see you on the UTA again :)

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I bill by project. I bill every 8 illustrations on large projects, less than that on projects less than 8 illustrations. Agreed upon price for Illustration ranges from $30-2000 depending on the type. All book covers are 2000.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to meet and greet to talk about the project, over video call or phone call or text or email (or visit if you're in the area). We talk contract (make sure we've communicated clearly and decided the parameters of the project), then sign. A sample/demo sketch may be required, in that case we agree upon price for demo sketch and I will present to you a sketch. Then, you decide if we go forward with the project, no harm no foul if it doesn't work out. When clients move forward with the process, we go according to the contract. And, don't forget to keep in touch when the project is done! I will always love to hear from you.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Award winning artist beginning in middle school and high school. Colege degree, BYU Illustration BFA grad, 2016. Art teacher (yep this requires making a LOT of art!) 4 years, Freelance Illustrator 1.5 years. Corporate Illustrator 1.5 years. 5 months of Junior Graphic Design. 3 months Print shop Graphic design. Caricature Artist at SeaWorld And Legoland for 2 summers. Freelance Caricature Artist 4+years. (I’ve been doing caricatures 12 years total between freelancing and at theme parks) And finally, Practice, practice, practice. Lack there of is evident, and the well-practiced artist will make it look easy.
