Introduction
I have a Bachelor's degree in Math and a Master's degree in Secondary Teaching for Math and Chinese.
I am currently a Math teacher in a Middle School in Utah. At school, I mainly teach 9th grade Math (Secondary 1 of Utah's Common Core Integrated curriculum) and 10th grade Math (Secondary 2 on an accelerated path). I am also the FTC Robotics Coach at my school. Outside school, I've been tutoring students of all ages since I was a sophomore in college all the way from 3rd grade Math up to Calculus. Being a firm believer that "Everyone can do Math", I specialize in finding the missing pieces for my students and breaking down mathematical concepts/jargons with plain understandable English.
When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I enjoy hiking in the summer and snowboarding during winter. Utah is the best place for both!!

My 16 year old son was struggling with Algebra II/Trig; Pinyi assessed and identified that he is missing some key building blocks. He is patiently working with him and ensures he understands each Math lesson. Most importantly he is really positive and encouraging during his sessions. My son is enjoying his time with Pinyi and feels that he is growing tremendously in his Math skills! Would definitely recommend Pinyi to anyone looking for help in any area!!!

Pinyi has helped me over the last few months. I am an adult that is going back to college to finish my degree. He is a life saver, he got me from “I have no idea what I’m doing” to “wow, I can do math!”. Over the last few years, we have supplemented various school subjects with tutoring through Sylvan, Zaniac, and Educational Advantage. In terms of math instruction, there is no comparison to the quality and depth of instruction that Pinyi has offered. He does not "skim" over topics or just help finish homework. Your child will have a solid understanding of every topic covered. If there are "gaps" that need attention or review, he will find them! While we have worked with many tutors, Pinyi has been the best by far. --J. Witt
