Introduction: I think art, by nature, is individual. Certainly, if we're doing our job, we all "stand out" from one another. My creative eye is going to be different from the guy down the stree, and his is going to be different than the girl next door.
But, if you want to know what I think gives me an edge, it's this:
I work hard. I work very hard to make sure that you're comfortable, that your questions are answered in a timely manner, that you have fun, that I get just that perfect angel. I've been known to wade thigh high in the snow or to crawl around on my belly in the dirt to make sure I get the shot that I want.
The freedom of expression. Hands down. I love that this field allows me to be free to express myself. When you take a photograph, the possibilities are endless. I could go clean and modern, vintage, hazy, cool, warm... and on and on. No two photoshoots come out exactly the same. They're all tailored to meet the needs of the client as well as my own artistic needs as a photographer.
I read a quote once that stuck with me and I that I embrace. It said:
If you never want to work another day in your life... do what you love.
