FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I participated in rescue work and would keep in contact with the new owners of the dogs that I adopted out. Some of the local adopters would ask me to come over and check in on their adopted dog, because the dog already knew me and it was a wonderful chance for us to reunite! They often paid me for this service and word spread! Now I am employed full time and then some and have several part time sitters that help me out.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Meet the caregiver face to face and make sure not only does the pet sitter connect with your animals, but do they connect with you!
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
This is a real job, not a hobby. We really do get booked up. We do employee several sitters, but from time to time, our service does get full during holidays and in the summer. If you know you are leaving town, it's never too early to call and give us notice! Sadly, we do have to turn away business when we get booked up. The reason we can't squeeze you in, is because that means, one of our other clients that called ahead of time will get their visit shortened, to accommodate your last minute visit, because you didn't call in time. Of course, that's not fair!
