- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first part of my process is understanding my client's desires by asking questions. I need to know who the quilt is for and why the quilt is being made. Once I understand the story behind the quilt, then I can begin to guide my client in selecting designs, colors, and thread. My clients receive a complete proposal which outlines everything I will provide along with my fees.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I learned to sew and quilt at the feet of my grandmothers and mother. As a child, I used to play under the quilt frame during quilting bees and occasionally help from below push a needle up. Since acquiring my Gammill Statler Stitcher in 2008, I have attended over 640 formal instructional hours of training in addition to online training and quilting explorations.
