We loved working with Kevin. While there are many great things, I think my favorite aspect was how much he cared to understand what we wanted out of our event photos and worked to really get the proper vibe to help accomplish our goals. I also loved that he based pricing off our event and goals v. hours. This was a different setup than I had ever worked with before, but it ended up being fantastic. Because of that, he took the time to really understand the project, read the room and get the right photos without rushing due to being on more of an hourly setup. It also relieved the stress on my side as I was able to let him get a good understanding of the space and our hopes from the photos and accomplish it, instead of ever wondering why he wasn't frantically taking photos to maximize my hours. In the end, we ended up with great shots and a wonderful experience. Kevin also has a calm energy to have in your event, which is really appreciated as he fits in nicely, allowing people to be comfortable and just enjoying their event. Thank you, Kevin! We will certainly reach out if we ever have more photography needs!

Our experience with Kevin was really awesome! We were looking for someone that could capture our authentic selves (not too perfect or retouched) and we got exactly what we wanted! We used him for our engagement pictures in Tibble Fork and we were very happy with the results. We also had a crazy idea to jump in a lake and he just went with it. It helped a lot that we met briefly before the photoshoot and he captured everything we wanted :)

Kevin was great to work with for a last minute family photo shoot. I’d had another photographer cancel on me 2 days before our scheduled shoot. I was desperate and Kevin said he was available and I’m so glad he was. We have a big blended family with older kids and their spouses and kids as well as our own younger kids. Kevin really tried hard to keep everyone straight and figure out how everyone fit in. Then there were the mosquitoes... the location we’d picked was bug free 2 weeks earlier when I’d originally scouted it out but the day we were there we discovered swarms of mosquitoes. They could have carried us away and Kevin was so good at keeping his cool and making the best of it. We love our photos and think they turned out perfectly. Thanks Kevin!

Kevin was incredible from start to finish. He took the time to speak with me prior to our shoot so he could fully comprehend the purpose of our shoot and our needs! To say that we came with challenges is an understatement - our group had about every skin tone imaginable, we needed to shoot while natural light was at its worst, and we were all from out of town and needed helping finding the right location. Kevin made it happen though!
He worked well with our group and made everyone feel at ease. He was worth every penny, as the images came out exactly how I envisioned. We'll be doing this annually in Utah and I'll be contacting Kevin again each time!

I am beyond glad to have met and studied photography with Kevin. I had kind of an odd situation where I needed to pass an advanced photography class with little experience in photography- and no experiences in digital photography. He was so easy to work with and spent a lot of time teaching me the basics so that I had a good foundation. Kevin even put together some assignments for me so I could get used to my new camera. He even texted me reminders of what to study so that I could always be on top of it- which helped me so much because I have such a crazy work schedule. Kevin and I met a lot of Saturdays to review my work, talk about photography terms, look at other artists work, do test shots, and also did an overview of Adobe Lightroom. He seriously did it all and I couldn't have passed my class without his help. Kevin was always quick to respond and I learned skills in this class that will help me with my personal and professional photography moving forward. I feel like this one-on-one class was a great value, and I'd consider doing more classes in the future to build off of what I've learned.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have solutions for almost any budget. Many quotes go out automatically based on matching search criteria. Because of this some quotes are subject to change based on your exact needs and any potential variables related to the job. Likewise, discounts and other special considerations may also be applicable.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Photography is personal. We should get to know each other a little bit first. I like to meet in person whenever possible, but a phone call, FaceTime or Skype conversation can be just as good. The more at ease we are with each other the better. This is also your chance to express to me what you're hoping to get out of the shoot in terms of location(s), mood, style etc. and to learn more about how I work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In college I majored in Communication with an emphasis on Media Studies and Rhetoric and a minor in Art. The subject of photography permeated all areas of my studies from the technical basics to its persuasiveness and rhetorical use in various media campaigns ranging from story-telling to advertising to government propaganda. I started out on film and quickly developed (pun slightly intended) an appreciation for photography as an art-form. I’d spend hours in the darkroom, creating moody artsy black and white prints for exhibition. I was also a part of our school's first ever digital photography class (Yes...I am that old, haha!) Today I still subscribe to newsletters and take online courses covering all sorts of topics from lighting, posing, and editing to how to travel more efficiently while lugging around a bunch of gear.
