- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prepaying for lessons is a great way to keep your costs low. If you prepay, they don't have any time limit on them and can be used as needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This is the typical process in a first lesson. First, I get to know what their relationship is to singing and performing and what their personal expectations are of lessons. Then we discuss basic physiology so they can understand the vocabulary I use when I'm teaching them about their voice. Then we start technique training/warm-ups. This allows me to assess their current skill level and what needs to be improved upon. Then I like the student to sing a piece they love so I can get to know them and their voices a little better. Then we discuss future expectations of lessons and time requirements to meet the student's goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've studied voice with a private teacher since I was a child and received a full-ride to Weber State University in vocal performance. Notably, I've studied most extensively with Jennifer Welch-Babidge and Prof. Thomas Harper.
