Introduction: First and foremost please click my website link to contact me directly. If you want to contact me, or be added to a waitlist (when my studio is FULL) Please visit my website to help bring down costs at: stringthing.netlify.com I personalize each lesson to each student. Not everyone thinks the same way. So I find creative ways to explain technique and theory to each individual student. I thoroughly enjoy watching each student learn and progress as cellists, and musicians. I also offer GROUP lessons (Chamber music). This provides a quality orchestra experience, not many private teachers can offer. Currently my studio is FULL, if you would like to be on my waiting list, please kindly go to my webpage, and email me. Then I can add you to my waitlist with your Day/Time preferences. You MUST email me directly to be put on a waiting list. IF you are available for morning lessons I am open for new students then, but afternoon/evening lessons are packed. My email can be found at my website. Link is listed below. stringthing.netlify.com

I am an adult beginner and have been taking cello lessons from Rachel for about half a year now. I love learning from her and I think students get an excellent value for their tuition. She holds a group lesson every month where all of her students play together and perform which is really unique and wonderful. Her individual lessons are wonderful and she really goes above and beyond to help you okay you're best, helping with musicality and understanding the cello and music. A great thing about Rachel is her ability to teach a variety of levels and abilities. She doesn't make you feel like you feel like a child even if you are a beginner. On the flip side, from the little I've her of her lessons with kids and from the attitudes of her younger students at group lessons, I can tell she also is good with kids and helps then to feel happy and confident on their instruments. She teaches cello, violin, and viola.

Cello Lessons (for adults)

I have been taking lessons from Rachel now for a few months since finding her on Thumbtack. I couldn't be happier with my experience with her. As an adult learner, she has done great at adapting to my needs and helping me learn at my pace. I would definitely recommend her.

Violin Lessons (for children or teenagers)

Rachel is amazing! Talented, a patient instructor. So glad we chose her. We drive from Sugarhouse and the location is a quick drop off the highway, so easily accessible. Would recommend her to anyone!

Cello Lessons

Rachel is an incredible teacher. She takes the time to understand the way each student thinks and learns and personalizes her instruction accordingly. I have learned so much from her in such a short amount of time. I would highly recommend her!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

It is 75.00/90.00 per month (for 30 minute lessons) depending on a 4 week month or 5 weeks month. The amount changes is you would like 45 min- Hour lessons)

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All courses related to music, music theory from SLCC. 16 years of continuous teaching. Classically trained on Violin, Viola, and Cello.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was 14 years old. My cello teacher had someone interested in taking lessons from her because I played so well. She then gave him my phone number and told him that I taught cello lessons! So nerve racking!! But she sat through the first 6 months of his lessons to teach me how to teach. And here I am now 16 years later, still teaching and loving it!
