Introduction: I am a fun loving person who loves to teach violin lessons! I don't think that taking lessons should be something you put right up there with going to the dentist... it should be exciting and engaging. I am passionate about the all-encompassing beauty of music, and I believe that my students truly benefit from that. I teach violin lessons because I enjoy seeing the student come to understand a concept or master a skill. When I can tell that they are loving what they're learning, it gives me the boost I need! I love making the lessons informative so that the student understands WHY I have them do something... I try really hard not to just tell them to do something 'just because that's what you're supposed to do'. As dorky as it may sound, teaching the violin makes my day!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge by the month: $60 per month (4 weeks) for half-an-hour lessons once a week; $120 per month (4 weeks) for hour lessons once a week. If a month has 5 weeks instead of 4, the student can either pay for the extra lesson or skip a week.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would make sure that the teacher's personality agrees with you and your child. If the teacher is too strict, your child is not going to like going to the lesson OR practicing during the week. If the teacher is too laid back, your child may not feel like they're accomplishing anything. Also, don't be afraid to 'shop around' for different teachers before settling on one. Just be sure to inform the teacher that it is a 'trial lesson' so that they can plan accordingly.
