We had a kitchen in an older home that we wanted to open up and update. Scott and Paul were able to remove the necessary walls, and address a myriad of electrical issues (both connected and not connected directly to the kitchen), leaving us with a clean space ready for fresh paint, new floors, and new cabinets (as requested). Along the way they included considerations to make the finish work easier, including furring out walls in a way to make hanging cabinets easier. They also were more than happy to provide advice on other projects I had going on around the home, including installation of the new flooring and cabinets. I would definitely hire them again, and recommend them to anyone needing expert help with projects around the home.
Details: Change the form or function of a portion of a room or structure • Kitchen • No existing plans, but have a good idea of what I want • No, the project is not covered by an insurance claim • As soon as possible

Scott was absolutely amazing! I hired a different contractor that destroyed my home (literal rain in my living room) and Scott came in and saved it. He was able to repair the damage as well as do what was wanted in the first place. He talked me through everything that was needed, explained all the costs, and helped me navigate the permits. He always gave me receipts for materials and invoices for labor. He was always available when I had questions. As long as he is working, I will never hire anyone else to work on my home; he's literally the best! I would recommend Duvall Construction for any job that you need: he's honest and fair and does amazing work!
Details: Yes, the structure has already been built • Reframe a wall to accommodate new door or window • No existing plans, but have a good idea of what I want • No, I do not need plumbing or electrical lines installed • Yes, I need drywall applied • Home

I would use Scott and Paul again for carpentry, electrical & drywall. Scott took our sketches and made them a reality. Scott's attention to detail and precise measurements got our project off to a great start. Paul's ability to match drywall texture is impressive. They take pride in their work and strive for perfection.
Details: Wall to an existing room • Already have plans - just need installation • No, everything is removed - I just need installation • Yes, I need plumbing or electrical lines installed • Yes, I need drywall applied • Home

Scott Duvall replied to our request for help quickly and gave us an honest evaluation of the repairs needed. He outlined a two-part bid that we felt was very fair. He completed the first phase of the job and we are very pleased with his work. We look forward to having him do phase two in the spring.
Details: Cracked or broken railing • Deck / balcony / porch • Outdoor staircase • Moderate, area is usable but concerns about safety exist • 10 - 50 years old • No, the project is not covered by an insurance claim • Home

I ended up putting this project on the back burner so I can't rate Scott on his work but I was very impressed with his willingness to thoroughly inspect things before he gave me a quote. I was looking at having a wall removed and though it looked like it would be doable, Scott was willing to climb up in the attic to see for sure if it was load bearing or not. It was. He was honest with what he found and what options would have to be considered to make it structurally safe and fit our idea as well as prices. I'm grateful he did all that. I would definitely use his services again.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is fair and I don’t get rich by no means. And it took me 30 years to learn and know what it takes to do a job correctly. So as far as discounts there is none. I have had no complaints about my pricing once I have completed a job.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I reply, second I always go look at what they want and always meet with them. That way we can go over different options if needed. Then I send over a bid and go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
On the job training. Life of get it done and done right and hurry up. And if it is done wrong you fix it for free. That’s my training.
