I would highly recommend Jared for any illustration needs. He is very talented and can draw in so many different styles. Not only was the quality of work great but I was really impressed with his quick responses and quick turn around time with each illustration as well as my request for changes. Jared was very professional and easy to work with from start to finish. He also supported with formatting. Finding that right illustrator and getting through the illustration process can be very hard but Jared made it super easy. I am very happy I found Jared to illustrate my first children’s book, “Hello Washcloth!”

Jared is a talented and exceptional artist. He illustrated two of my children’s books and his artwork is excellent. I requested realistic pictures in both books and Jared was able to capture the exact look and expressions of all of the animals. The artwork he created looks exactly like the pictures I provided to him and they are beautiful!
Jared is thorough and detail-oriented. He communicates well and responds to emails and text in a timely manner. He is very accommodating and willing to make adjustments or changes where needed and always ensures the customer is happy with the finished product.

Working with Jared on my children’s book has been such a positive experience. He is very responsive, professional, and extremely talented. He walked me through the entire process from beginning to end and was very patient and helpful when I wasn’t sure what I was doing! There were multiple stages—character design, thumbnails of the pages, sketches, and finally the colored pages and cover. At each stage I had opportunities to give feedback and make tweaks. He had fun ideas that I would never have thought of on my own, but he also worked hard to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. In the end, I received files ready to upload and publish so I didn’t have to do any of the formatting. He works very hard and very quickly. Hiring an illustrator is a big investment and can be a little scary, but I feel like I found a hidden gem with Jared. I will definitely be reaching out to him for future projects.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally figure out my prices by how many hours it will take me to complete the work. I will always be upfront with you about price and avoid any surprises along the way. I usually charge $175 per illustrated page and $350 for a front cover. I'm happy to talk about any discounts you may need!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually I will send you the quote and my idea for the project. After some more clarification from you I will give you the steps that I foresee ahead of us. If you decided to continue forward we will work out payment from there. I always make sure that you don't have to pay the full price until you have approved of the final product. I want you to be happy and to be able to use the art you get for the rest of your life.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have completed over 30 Children's Books! I have a Bachelors of Fine Art in Illustration from Utah Valley University. I'm currently getting my Masters Degree in Illustration from the University of Hartford. I took private art lessons from 15-18 and was always in an art class in school. From about the age of 16 I started teaching art lessons in the cities around me and almost always am teaching in one way or another. I am currently working full time doing art and loving it!
