My event was a surprise 40th birthday party for my wife, and I contracted with Stephanie for appetizers, a single course buffet style meal with vegetable and bread, and limited bar service which I assumed to mean I was to be provided with a bartender, liquor, and mixers. I provided the wine and beer. Upon arriving, the appetizers were a hit and my guests enjoyed them immensely, specifically the mushroom dish which was excellent. This was also the case with the Chicken Marsala and Pasta as well. Stephanie was on time, and very easy to work with both before and during my event. I had made a few changes and increased the number of guests and made minor changes to the menu, and she handled these quite well. All in all, a good job by Stephanie and staff. The only things I would have preferred to be done differently (and they were few) were the Bar Service and presentation. Let me say at the outset, that the section below is a bit longer than the section above where I'm describing what I DID like. I went into detail because I don't like it when someone complains about something, but is vague about what it was specifically that bothered them. Again, Stephanie did a good job, but with a little more attention to detail, it could have been an great job. When I arrived, I asked for a Vodka Tonic, and was informed that my bartender didn't have any tonic water, which is like preparing a meal and forgetting to bring salt and pepper. A bar needs to be stocked with mixers, and tonic water, Club Soda, and Grenadine are simply basic staples when it comes to preparing cocktails. This was disappointing. The second thing that I wasn't happy with was the dinnerware. In all fairness to Stephanie, we discussed this before hand, and while I would have preferred real dinnerware, Stephanie told me that she intended to use plastic plates and glasses that were a bit more upscale and would suffice nicely. I agreed and we went forward however the night of the party I wasn't impressed, and was further disappointed to discover that there weren't enough dinner plates for all my guests and some were forced to eat off of salad plates. Its a natural response when guests are served on plastic, they expect to throw their plates out and get new ones when they go back for seconds. I also wasn't impressed with the plastic champagne flutes. When Stephanie and I discussed this earlier in the week, I was told that she could obtain real wine glasses and champagne flutes but I would be purchasing them and would be responsible for taking them with me afterward. It just seems like a basic thing to have these items. The facility our event took place in didn't have a kitchen so I understand the convenience of just throwing the plastic ware out, but Ive been to many events in the past where the caterer had carrying cases for the glass and dinnerware, and I would have preferred this way. As I said, The food was delicious, and overall I was happy with the service Stephanie provided other than what I've mentioned previously. I would certainly use her again.

Steve, Thank you for the review, I really do appreciate it. I even more so appreciate your honesty, since it helps us to improve! We want you to be happy with your experience with us! I understand your disappointment that we ran out of plates during the event, I did bring 88 plates for a party of 30 and thought it would be more than enough. I'm glad we were able to locate more shortly after running out. I wasn't impressed with the disposable champagne flutes either. Frankly, it was the best that I could find on short notice since I didn't know that we would be serving champagne. The mixers, I thought we discussed beforehand what I would be bringing, and I apologize that tonic was not on that list. It is so scarcely served it is not a usual item to add on to limited bar service unless requested. I wish I would have known it was your drink of choice, I certainly would have had it there for you. Overall, I'm very glad that you liked the food and that you would be willing to work with us again. We were happy to serve you and your guests and thank you again for your patronage.
