For as long as I can remember, I have been very fascinated by planning, coordination, and organization. With a background in Project Management, and several years of customer service experience, I treat each event as if it were my own. Whether the event is a large wedding, or a small family getaway, client can be confident that they will receive high quality results. As an event coordinator, my mission is to take my client's vision and turn it to a reality. As the independent owner of Events by Tyra, it is my responsibility to plan, execute, and deliver and this is not a commitment that I take lightly. My extensive experience as a PMP certified project manager allows me to not only understand and visualize the expected end result, but to execute everything that it takes to achieve the best possible experience for my client. From vendor relations and management, to budget maintenance, and scheduling, I have what it takes to do it all. No event is too big or too small.

Ok WOW! Words can’t describe how great Tyra is. Our wedding was a dream come true and it was ALL because of Tyra. We found Tyra through Thumbtack and did our due diligence of meeting with multiple different planners. Yet NONE could hold a candle to her. The moment we got off the call with our initial consultation we could tell we were in good hands. We spoke with 5 different planners over the course of a week and without even a hesitation we knew Tyra stood head and shoulders above the rest. She’s also got the most up to date systems in place to make even planning a wedding through Covid flawless. Seriously, she took away all the stresses of a wedding and any crazy questions we might’ve had she always had a solution and answer to calm our nerves. This is what you’re getting when you pick Tyra (the best and only right choice for your wedding): A truly dedicated professional who knows the ins and outs of this industry better than anyone. Someone who can execute the crazy and unexpected without a bat of an eye. Keen eye to event management. From the timeline, the vendor management, the constant communication, and the tiny details that makes it all come together. You won’t believe how many small details there are that you’d never even think of if it wasn’t for her. She’s mastered it all. Most importantly, someone who makes you feel like you’re the only wedding she’s working with and that you’re the center of her world (seriously the best and most comforting feeling). She literally planned and executed a whole other wedding the week before ours and you never would’ve guessed it! 2 whole weddings DURING COVID. But yet, the whole time it felt like she was dedicated to making our dream come true. We seriously cannot thank Tyra enough. Miracle worker is an understatement!!! Now as amazing as she is on helping make the day come together, what makes her a step above the rest is her day of execution. Our wedding ceremony was set to be outside. Everything was decorated and ready to go. Well, about 10mins before the ceremony, out of nowhere, in begins to absolutely down pour. Without hesitation Tyra was on top of it. She was able to make the audible to have our wedding - still outside, but under the covered area all within a short and speedy turnaround.... until the rain turned sideways, thunder & lightning came, and HAIL! So yet again, within minute she was able to adjust the ceremony AGAIN but this time to inside... then the power and A/C went out.... but not to fret, Tyra was on top of it. She took care of our guests, keeping them well informed & in the loop, she kept all the vendors organized and was always one step ahead of whatever the weather could throw at us. In the end we had the most romantic candle lit ceremony that anyone could ask for. We truly got to feel like guests at our own wedding. All the little details, the months of planning, the execution, all turned out amazing and it was the greatest experience to just simply enjoy the evening with the love of my life and our family & friends all around us. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TYRA!! Book Tyra, and breathe a sigh of relief that no matter WHAT happens, she will alway be one step ahead to ensure your dream wedding comes true.

We contacted Tyra less than a month out from our microwedding and she immediately put us at ease! She was so organized and I don't know how we would have done it without her. She coordinated with all of our vendors, set up all of our personal touches around the venue, and even acted as our emcee since we didn't have a DJ for our scaled down, pandemic wedding! She listened intently about our safety concerns surrounding COVID-19 and made sure the setup was as safe as possible for all of our guests! Tyra was so thorough in the planning process and her help allowed us to enjoy a truly beautiful wedding day.

We hired Tyra for our micro wedding at the DC War Memorial and she was absolutely amazing!! We spoke to a handful of planners, but Tyra easily stood out amongst the others - she is SO incredibly organized and professional, and that was apparent from our very first conversation with her. Our decision to hire her was easy :) As soon as we booked her and started working with her, the whole planning process became so much more stress free. She took care of everything and made it a breeze for us. She is incredibly organized, always one step ahead, very communicative and responsive, and so reliable. She also has relationships with vendors that saved us major $$! She was able to get our chair rentals for us for a fraction of the price that we had been quoted elsewhere. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Having been a bride myself, I understand the importance of making and sticking to a budget. I offer very competitive pricing while maintaining high quality customer service.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All new customers are required to have a FREE 30 minute consultation. This gives us a chance to know each other, and more importantly, gives the client the opportunity to see if I am a good fit. If it feels right, I will either recommend a combination of a la carte services to meet a client's needs, or recommend a service package.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a background in Project Management (PMP certified with a Masters degree in Project Management). I have over 10 years of customer service, project management, and customer relationship management experience. I apply my technical knowledge to events and weddings to make dreams into reality for my clients.
