Job was to clean up a rehearsal recording of a song I played keyboard on with a singing group. He volunteered to do the job despite not having a separate vocal track. He had a separate instrumental track and a rehearsal track with the voices. Nicolas was very honest and detailed with the assessment. I asked him to work it up and get it as clean as he could and he did so. It was sooo much cleaner than it Initially was! Then, after telling him that the singers were not happy with it (they were drowned out a lot and there were a few wrong notes in it), Nicolas found a similar piece that seemed to work, but it was too short. He immediately suggested that he could fix the other piece he found by putting a similar structure at the end, thereby making it sound almost identical to the piece I played. Truly amazing! I would not have thought someone would go that far to fix another problem after already having been paid for another job. Impressive, and ONE WOULD BE NUTS not to use his service, which I plan on doing in the future! Nicole Price Sedgwick

Nicolas Laget is nothing short of a miracle worker! I wrote and recorded a song for a charity in Charleston, South Carolina, but could not get the mix the way that I wanted it, without being there to sit by the side of the engineer.
There were several attempts made to do this online, but it wasnât working. I finally had the raw tracks sent to me and proceeded to find someone to help me finish the project.
Nico answered my request on Thumbtack. I looked at his reviews and I was satisfied. Not only did Nico dub my voice over some questionable parts of the song, but he went through every single track of the song and perfected it. In the end he also created a radio version of the song which blended perfectly when he finished with it.
He was very meticulous in finding the correct pitch and he made sure there were no instruments bleeding into the vocals. Nico is affordable and very prompt in getting his ideas back to you. I would certainly recommend using SweetSpot recording. Simply putâ¦he is a professional! A family member who has worked in PR and with recording engineers throughout her professional life came with me to listen as we mixed the final versions of my song. She said she has never worked with anyone with Nicoâs talented, unerring ear for recorded sound (including the wayward pitch), is as technically proficient as both a sound engineer and mixer, really listens and communicates well with the client, and is simply great to work with.

When it comes to recording a song or an album I want a quality professional producer and engineer to work with, and Nico at Sweet Spot is exactly that. If you're recording any song you've poured your heart into you want someone who who is going to take the time to make that song sound great. Do yourself and/or your band a favor and never go for the "cheapest" option when looking for a studio. Look for something like Sweet Spot, you'll be glad you did!

I am on the board of governors at the Recording Academy's DC chapter. (The Grammies) This keeps me connected with leaders in my field. I also serve on the Producers and Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy.
For years I was a beta tester for WAVES. I still remain in touch with this community.
I also attend NAMM to get my hands on the latest products and talk to manufacturers about where they see things heading.
I read a ton of blogs, forums, and magazines about sound.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Quality takes time. There is no substitute for spending a few extra hours on a project. I can get to 80% quickly. Achieving that extra 20% which makes your music on par with what you hear on the radio takes much longer. Longer sometimes than it took to get to the first 80%. It's your music. You decide.
