Professional. Knowledgable. Passionate about his craft. If I could give Jonathan 100 stars, I would. I was convinced (and told by other contractors) that I needed a second HVAC to supply the upstairs. If Jonathan came in, took measurements, and gave me a quote, there’s a good chance I’d be on the schedule for a second unit install. He did start by taking a look at the house to determine the feasibility of a second unit, and even went as far as checking the panel for power to supply it. But something told him to take a look at a few more things. Bottom line my existing unit was in serious need of maintenance. I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t know that it needed to be checked and cleaned as often as it did. We decided to move forward with a deep clean. Then he tested the results. Then he checked refrigerant levels. Low. Filled it and checked the results again. He kept me informed every step of the way, and was so engaging that I was taking time away from my office just to learn from him. During his tests, he determined that my high powered system was being throttled to about half its ability because of an incompatible thermostat and wiring job that must have occurred before I purchased the home. (I won’t say who did it, but it involves a weird cartoon man on most DC sports broadcasts). He came back the next day, fixed the thermostat issue, and updated the wiring. The system is now running like a perfectly tuned hot rod. In the 5+ years I’ve lived in this house, the air has never felt more comfortable. I gave him multiple opportunities to sell me a new unit which would have cost thousands. He chose the ethical route, put in the extra work, and made me a much more educated homeowner along the way. Jonathan is a rare find in the world of home services work. Thanks again!!!
